Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Fire Pit

We are up at our land today and did some more building.  We got the last two sheets of sheathing up on the roof which was quite hard to do.
Then it was time to take a break for lunch.  We made a fire pit and started a fire.
And I cooked a couple of hotdogs.
In the afternoon Ken put up the fascia and the drip edge along one side and this is what the tractor shed looked like when we quit for the day.
I did a little mowing and trimming of trees and got things for Ken when needed.  We drove down to Brenda's and had pizza again for supper which we do most Friday's now.  : )

We just stopped at Lowe's and bought, the tar paper, shingles and nails and tomorrow we hope to get the roof finished.
We are now sitting in the parking lot of a MacDonalds using their free internet so I can post this.  In just a bit we are going to go in and get an ice cream for our snack.  We are planning to sleep in the tractor shed tonight.  At least we will start out there.  We may end up in the truck.

So that's my day.  I'm hoping to post again tomorrow evening here at MacDonalds.
Hope your day was a good one.

Hi Karen, You two have really made some progress on your new 'home'... Love it!!!!! Will you have a small Heating/AC unit in there.. It's supposed to get so hot here this weekend. Hopefully the heat won't come to you all...

That area looks so different now that the trees have leaves on them... It's gorgeous...

Happy Memorial Day.
Hugs,
Betsy

You've been working hard! Hopefully you will not be too warm this week-end. We expect mid-nineties for highs here!

You two are zipping along. It all looks nice and roomy, too. Nothing like a hotdog or two on a Memorial Day weekend. You're just a coupla kids roughing it!

Hope you take some pictures of inside while you are getting settled in there. I am very glad you are posting all this with pictures. What a wonderful chronicle for you both once everything is finished (if it ever is).

:-) I was surmising that you were up on your land again!

Great pics! Oh and yes, some pics taken inside the product of all-your-work, please. :-)

Can't wait to find out if you make it the whole night, inside. For the first time! What a landmark, even to attempt it.

Think back not so long ago, when you simply had purchased the land! And look at it now! Congratulations!

What a great camp fire - and such fun cooking lunch. The trees surrounding the building look lovely now they are in full leaf. Enjoy your ice cream.
