Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking again : )

Oh, it was sooooo good to get back to my morning walk.  It's been over three weeks since I walked around the lake and it was a bit of heaven being there again.  The weather was perfect for walking.  Sunny and 55 degrees.
No sooner did I start walking on the path to the lake when I saw three deer across the stream.  You can barely see them in this picture but they are there.
Coming up to the lake the Red Bud trees are blooming and everything is turning green.
The dogwood trees are blooming too.
I saw two snapping turtles.  This one was over by the lake on the dam side
and another one in the taller grass further along the path.  I first heard something moving in the grass and went to investigate and there she was walking along.  So nice to see these because I don't think I saw any here last year.
Just another picture I took walking.
Everywhere I looked everything looked so pretty that I wanted to take a picture of everything I saw!

There were quite a lot of people walking around the lake but I didn't see any of my walking friends.  I did leave a little bit later than usual so maybe that's why.  I also tried to take it slower than my usual walk just to be on the safe side with my leg and kept my walk to just over 5 miles today.  Leg feels great and tomorrow I'll be back to my regular 6 miles or so. : )
I want to say Thank You! my friends, for your concern over my hurt leg.  All the well wishes and good thoughts  and the prayers.  You my blogger friends are indeed friends.
Thanks also for all the kind comments you left on building The Barn posts.

Just getting back in the routine of things this Monday.  There was lots of laundry to get done and thankfully the sunny day has cooperated and I got quite a few loads done.  A couple loads in the morning and the clothes dried fast enough that I was able to get a couple more loads hung out in the afternoon as well.

Another job was cleaning out the refrigerator.  I threw out some old food and while I was at it ended up giving the whole refrigerator a good cleaning.

It was also the day to get back to doing my exercises again and did a Body Electric workout.  I usually do it 4 times a week but have skipped doing it for the last 2 weeks.  I'll probably be a bit sore tomorrow - but it is a good sore knowing I got a good workout.

Yesterday Ken came home from the store with two HUGE cantaloupes and for our snack cut one in half and we each ate a half.  It was so good.  Very sweet and juicy.  Tonight we will eat the second one. At least that is something that is delicious and low calorie. : )

That's it for today.
May your Monday be a day that made you smile more than a few times.

Awesome, Karen... Glad you are walking again... Just don't push it too fast... You do NOT want to re-injure that leg...

The cantaloupes sound awesome. I love fresh fruit. We split a Navel Orange every night... I'll be sad when the Navels are gone for the year.

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

That quote is great. I am so glad that you are back to your usual routine without difficulty. That must be a great feeling! (And it's always a good feeling to know that the refrigerator is safe. ☺)

On the 8th day of Easter my dear friend said to me, "three pretty deer, a red bud tree, 2 snapping turtles and a blooming dogwood tree."

I can see the happiness in your writing, how much better you are feeling. Welcome Back!!!! I know how you felt when I had my knee surgery, maximum frustration. Stay healthy, and of course, especially happy! I can't believe your pictures, love the turtle, and yes, I can see the deer too!

Oh, Happy Day!! So glad to hear the leg is better and you are able to resume your walks. That turtle was a nice surprise to welcome you back.
All of the photos are lovely, but that last one just makes me want to hop on that trail and take a walk :).

I'm so pleased for you that you are now back to your walking. I've just finished reading a book that I thought you might like. It's 'A Walk With Jane Austin' by Lori Smith. I think I grabbed it off the fiction shelves at the library but it is actually the account of a month she spent in the UK visiting places associated with Jane Austin's life and also her novels. Lori's travel account is interspersed with her personal comments about life and her faith and it all made for a good read. Also I am enjoying watching your building project. What are planning regulations like in the US? Will you have to apply for permission to build your cabin? Here in the UK everything is regulated and even putting up a barn would need lots of paperwork.Don't overdo things with the walking and enjoy the good spring weather.
