I saw my first baby geese of the season! There were 5 or 6 of them. They were down close to the water and I didn't get a picture because I would have had to walk through the wet grass. Then sun wasn't out and I didn't think the picture would be a very good one. I'll wait for a nice day.
Saw a couple of deer off in the woods and the heron was there again sitting on the rocks by the water.
The rain stopped about half way through my walk so I got to take down the umbrella and didn't need it again. It rained all day yesterday but we really need the rain so that is a good thing. With all this rain all the green looks especially bright and pretty.
I walked 6.3 miles.

Ken did well at the farm auction Saturday and came home with some good stuff that we can use up on our land. Here are of some of the things that we now own.
An old cast iron bell to hang up outside and we can call each other back to camp.
A water tank which will hold our water.
An old heater which we can fix up and use in our future cabin.

Last night we watched the movie Secretariat on Netflix. What an amazing horse he was!! Penny, his owner, the trainer, handler and jockey were all pretty amazing too. We thought the movie was terrific.

Though it has been a cloudy and windy day so far it hasn't rained anymore but it looks like it still might.
I planned on going out this morning and doing some errands but ended up staying home. Ken and I will go out after dinner to do those errands.
So I've been home today doing a bit of this and that and enjoying my day at home.
A happy day to you my friends.

It has been chilly. Just glad that you didn't wake to any snow nor did I. Love that bell! That's got enough presence to call in the entire county.
Great finds at the auction - love the bell. The UK is desperate for rain and many parts of the country have hose pipe bans already. I just wish it would get a little warmer.
It is chilly here today, and I too am wondering where spring went. great finds you have, I have a bell like that that we are planning to paint and put up sometime this summer, Your looks great. Enjoy your day.
Sue
I'll be at knitting tomorrow. Hope to see you there.
I haven't been walking for the last 2 weeks. I had an head cold that went down into my chest and totally sapped by strength. I am looking forward to starting again.
Cold here today but no rain. We really need some rain too!
It's been rainy and snowy here today - but no accumulation :) We need some more rain - we are a bit low for this time of year.
Not sure if you stream netflix or not - but I found some good ones this weekend - The Songcatcher and True Grit. They were fantastic!
Brrr. I'm sitting on my couch at almost 9 at night and it's raining again and the wind is howling. I hope tomorrow begins with a bright green day and better walking conditions for you.
Loved the auction finds! How many gallons of water does your container hold?
Love old bells!!!
"Secretariat" Penny Tweety...
We live a block off of N. Broadway. On N. Broadway, are beautiful mansions. One of them, used to be owned by Penny, when "Secretariat" was running.
We live across the street, from the back of it.
In other words, the (then) Tweety estate takes up a whole block (east to west). A street ran behind it, where the back of the house is, of course. And our home is across that street. :-) Really.
Caught up in the Secretariat frenzy then, I painted blue and white checks on the windows of our garage door. Secretariat's racing 'colors.' Fun memories...
Mmmm, have never rented the film, although our son wanted us to do so!! He was a little boy, then... And he remembers!
Re: that bell...
Back to those mansions, on N. Broadway. One of them, up a couple of houses, was owned by a local doctor and his large family.
Pat had one of those bells, on the back porch... Which she ran, when she wanted her brood to return to the nest. Like at dinner time...
And of course, when her kids and mine, where growing up, it was safe enough for all the neighborhood kids to run and play. -sigh- Not so today...
Hi Karen!! I am doing great, just moving along, 32 lbs!!! I wanted to tell you I have the same bell!! When my brother passed away in 1997, I had my other brother retrieve it off his pole in the front yard of his home as a memory of him. Don is building a kitchen with a roof and cupola on our new deck and the bell will finally find it's home in the cupola! Love you! Pamie G.
