Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new Secret Sister

52 degrees and sunny this morning when I walked.  Got up a little bit later than usual and didn't leave until 7:00.  Didn't walk on any mapped out route, just walked here and there along paths and on sidewalks.
This tree caught my eye.
So did this this red and white tulip.
Walking along a path I heard something behind me.  Turned around and saw these deer following behind me and zoomed in on them for the picture.  I stopped to see how close they would get and a couple of runners came along and scared them off.
The runners were the only people I saw out on the paths.
As I walked through the school yard people were out getting things set up for some kind of school fair event.
I walked 6 miles.

Ken went to a farm equipment auction on his own today and left right after I left on my walk.  I left wondering what on earth he would come home with.  : )
I would have went with him but I went out to church later in the morning.  The ladies met for brunch, a discussion on blessings, some talking , and to pick a Secret Sister for this year.
We played a couple of silly games, which I never like to do, filled out a form telling of our interests and hobbies and then drew names for our Secret Sister.  I sat next to a woman who I didn't know but we soon got talking and she happened to be the name I drew!  : )

I've been doing some reading and just puttering around the house this afternoon.  Ken must be buying stuff because he's still not home.  I await to see what treasures he arrives home with!! : )

Hope you found happiness in your day.
Happyone
Happiness is always a by-product.
It is probably a matter of temperament,
and for anything I know it may be glandular.
But it is not something that can be demanded from life,
and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it
and see what treasure you can pluck from
your own brand of unhappiness.

The tulip is gorgeous. They are not in bloom here quite yet.

Happiness for me is being able to get out of bed each morning. More so the older I get. ;-)

I choose to be happy, sometimes I have to work at it harder than other times. The deer were a wonderful sight! Have a good weekend.

Your day sounds delightful, beginning with your walk and the deer, and then your new secret sister from church.

The deer are following you now? Do you find that creepy? ☺

How interesting that you met a new gal and then pulled her name. Hope that you found out just enough to make her wonder...
