Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

My Sunday

Last night did not make me a Shawn Colvin fan.  I really didn't care for her music.  I thought the words were depressing and all the music just all seemed to blend together after a while.  My foot didn't get to tapping and my mind started wandering.  I did enjoy the Apple Cinnamon Crisp served warm with a couple of dollops of whipped cream on it.  That alone was worth going for.  : )

We got home late, went to bed late so got up later than usual this morning.  No time for walking before Sunday school and church.  I did walk to church, but that hardly counts because it is just two blocks away!!

For learning the Bible verses for the current series of lessons at Sunday school I got to pick out a gift from a basket.  I chose a book of hymns. One side of the page has the hymn and the opposite page gives the background about the hymn.  I look forward to reading it.

Ken was over at the old house again this morning building the rest of those trusses.  He got back home a little after I got home from church.  We had some lunch and then headed out to the fairgrounds to walk around the Home and Garden Show.  It was not what we expected and was really just one big advertisement with sales people trying TOO hard to sell you things.  It was really disappointing we we left soon after.

We made ourselves feel better by stopping in at Rita's for a gelati on the way home.  I had chocolate with black cherry ice and Ken had chocolate with banana ice.  Rita's has been opened for the season since March first and this was the first time we've been this season, but it sure won't be the last!!

We spent a little time at home this afternoon and then supper time we went out to Bertucci's and had a Margherita Pizza and a Caesar Salad.
Our Margherita Pizza
Now we are home for the day and will watch a little television this evening.  We will be watching Mad Men and since I already had a snack I probably shouldn't have any tonight but I just might have a small piece of that chocolate cake that I made.

That's it for today.
A very happy and blessed Sunday to you all. : )

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto you,
That ye love one another;
as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another.

Your pizza looks delish! Sorry about the concert, but you're right, why listen to depressing music? Life is too short for that.

I am sorry the concert wasn't what you expected.

The pizza looks good enough to eat.

Not sure who Shawn Colvin is but will look up the name.

Bertucci's is our fav as far as really great pizza goes. That tomato sauce is perfect.

Well--maybe there is a reason I have never heard of Shawn Colvin... If you didn't like her music, I'm sure I wouldn't either... I like music that makes you feel good!!!!!! BUT--that Apple Crisp sounded good.

Neat book that you got at church today.. At one time, I did some studying about the background of some of our old hymns. Very interesting. You will like the book.

The goodies at Rita's sounded good --and that pizza looked delicious...

Hope you have a good week --but please take care of that leg.
Hugs,
Betsy

Don't know who that singer is... But depressing song lyrics, ughhhhh... Yish... Etc. :-)

A cloud, and a rainbow's warning,
Suddenly sunshine and perfect blue--
An April day in the morning.”

Apple and cinnamon together is just perfect and with whipped cream absolutely delicious. What a huge pizza - looks good tho'. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee - is my most favourite hymn ever.
