Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Home today

49 degrees and a bit hazy this morning when I started walking.  By the time I got home though the sun was breaking through the clouds.
I walked over to the lake and stayed to the lower path when I walked around it.  I stopped a few times on the bridges to just enjoy the scenery around me.  Walked right down by the water a couple of times too.
There were a lot of different kinds of birds around this morning.  I'm sure they are always there but I just spotted them today.
A couple of red bellied sapsuckers were following each other up and down a tree stopping every now and then to do some wood pecking.  I saw robins, a mocking bird, two white egrets flying together, the heron, swallows, sparrows, starlings, and some red winged black birds.
I zoomed in on this red winged blackbird which makes it looks like a painting.
When work was being done on the path one of the the lake benches was replaced with this new one.  It replaced this bench.
Not that many people around the lake this morning but I did see a couple of my friends and stopped to talk with them.  I also had a call from my friend Lin and we walked and talked.
A great walk this morning and I walked 6.2 miles.

Last night was pizza night for us.  We usually just get a New York style cheese pizza but I really like the thick Sicilian crust and we got that for a change.  It looked so good that  I had to take a picture of it.  Doesn't that look good!!?
I had two slices, Ken had three, and we brought the rest home.  I had a slice for lunch today and there is still enough for another meal.  I put the rest of it in the freezer for another day.

The day turned out to be a nice sunny day so I was able to wash the sheets today.  Just took them off the line but I still have to put them back on the bed.

This morning I made dough in the bread machine and then turned the dough into some rolls for dinner tonight.  The chicken salad I made for supper tonight will be just the thing to put on the rolls for a quick and easy supper.
I got most of the cleaning done that I wanted to do today but just not enough time to finish it all so that will have to wait for tomorrow.

Now is my relaxing time of day and I will visit some of you and then read some of my book until Ken comes home from work.

Hope you discovered the happiness in your day.

I always loved seeing the red winged black bird. In east central Illinois where my husband and I lived you could could count on seeing this bird on or about the first day of spring as regular as clockwork.

The pizza does look good and the rolls too.

OH GOSH---that Pizza looks SO good... I haven't had pizza in a long time (dieting) --and my friend was telling me about her low-cal pizza which I could eat.. Shucks--I'd just as soon not have it at all if I can't have something that looks as good as yours did...YUM....

Your rolls look good also... Bet they are good with that chicken salad...

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

I have never thought to use the bread machine for making dough for rolls. I must try that, if I dared to use that bread machine replacement.

Yes, your pizza looks yummy!

What amazing bread rolls - I could just eat one and the pizza looks delicious too although I prefer the thin based pizzas. Your walk sounded really interesting with so much wildlife around.
