Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Day Three

Work on the shed went well today despite the cold weather, with wind, a light rain shower or two and even some snow flurries!!
The rest of the bracing got done and then we put down the sub flooring.  Here I am taking a turn with the nail gun.  Boy that sure helps get the job done faster than the old fashion way of hammering each nail in with a hammer!!
Once the sub flooring was finished it was time to start on the walls and by the end of the work day we had the right side wall standing.  The opening is where a small bump out will be.  Ken is finishing putting up some bracing for tonight so the wind won't blow  down the wall.  Tomorrow we hope to get done with the rest of the walls.
We stopped working when we ran out of building materials and it was just starting to rain again anyway so it was good timing.

Lunch again was sandwiches which we made and ate in the cab of the truck because of the weather.
Back to the house again when work was done to get cleaned up and we went out to get something to eat.  Another stop at Lowe's to get more building supplies for tomorrow.  Hopefully the weather won't be too bad so we can work all day again.  It's raining out now as I sit here typing this.
Here is a picture of the house where we are staying.  A pretty big place for just the two of us but it costs a lot less than a hotel room and so much nicer.
Running along the back of the house here is a little stream.
So that has been our day.
Now it's time again for a little relaxation after a hard day's work.
I'll be having a few cookies for my snack - maybe more than a few - I worked hard today! : )
Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A smile from me to you.

Wow---that is awesome... I'm so impressed at you two and your ability to do that... Neither George nor I have any talents in those areas... I'm excited for you...

You are lucky to have gotten the house for the week.. Sounds like everything is working out ---with the exception of the frigid weather... Hope tomorrow is better.

Hugs,
Betsy

You got a lot of work done! And the rental property is lovely!

It sure helps to have those kind of skills. My husband has done some carpentry but definitely not his favorite thing to do! I like the swing at your rent house.

You two have done a lot of work already. I guess you are a great team :) I look forward to see the progress. The place looks very nice.

I've been following the progress and am duly impressed. Not much time for commenting lately, but I'm still out here "lurking" on the those that I normally follow. This is such a beautiful setting...the woods and little stream are a dream of mine!

You're getting a lot accomplished! How's the leg holding up?

Nice place to stay and especially if it is less expensive than a motel or hotel. How does one find such arrangements?

Amazing! I've never seen two people get so much done in so little time.

Work is certainly progressing! Has he done this before? Drawn up plans for a building, and built it? This can't be his first try at this!!!

Look at that great place! And it cost less than a hotel room. Lovely.

Their little stream... Is it the same little stream, which runs in your land? No I doubt it. I'm sure there are lots of such little streams, in that area. And HOW LUCKY you are, that that is the case!!!

You know I am bent-on you making a photo record of your very own little stream!!! ,-) I'd love a little stream, of my own. :-))))

What a lovely cottage for a holiday. I'm amazed at how fast your building is going up - it looks amazing. I hope the weather improves for you. Very impressed seeing you using the nail gun.
