Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Walking and Giving Thanks Day Number 6

So nice walking early this morning in the light!  I left at 6:35 and it was only 25 degrees, but it was light, the sun came out, there was no wind and it was great walking weather.  By the time i got home it was 34 degrees.  I walked down the street and turned right and walked down here
to walk over to the small Wet Land park where i walk around a little pond.  I don't go here very often because of the traffic but on a Sunday morning there is no traffic.  When i got to the park and started walking down the path to the pond i had to come to a stop here.
I turned around and started going back and came across a man walking his dog and i said i guess we aren't going to be walking around the pond today.  He then showed me another way around the part that was closed.  I thanked him and continued my walk to the pond this way.
I got to the pond and walked around it.
And walked back home again.  No geese or ducks on the pond this morning and i only saw a couple of other people out.
I walked 6.7 miles.
Found a lucky penny.

Giving Thanks Day Number 6
I am thankful for my church.
I am so glad God led me to this church
which is right down the street from where i live.
I am thankful for my church family
and our wonderful pastor.
And now it's time to get ready to go to church! : )

Have a blessed Sunday.
Don't forget to thank God for another brand new day.
Happyone : )
If you concentrate on finding whatever is good
in every situation,
you will discover that your life will suddenly
be filled with gratitude,
a feeling that nurtures the soul.

  1. It is nice to find a church that you like so close to home.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

  2. Finding a church family is one of the most important things you can do. So glad that you have been blessed with one so close to home!

    Love the fall pictures!

  3. I, on the other hand, was quite disgruntled to be out of bed, wide awake at 5:30. It's going to be tough to get used to this time change. Always the hardest one for me for some strange reason.

Glad that you walked in the light, though, I think you do that every day. ;>

  4. Beautiful scenery for your walk. A good church is a wonderful thing.

  5. Beautiful church, Karen. Yes---we have so much to be thankful for... Right now, I'm thankful to get my health back... I guess I was taking it for granted.... Wooooo---won't do that again!

  6. Wonderful scenery. I have a church right down the street from my house too. I haven't been there yet but I've done a little research on it and talked to some people who go there. I plan on going myself this month. It would be nice to attend one that is so close.

Hello my friend.
Thanks for stopping by.
I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
Thanks. : )
