Giving Thanks Day Number 11
I am thankful for all the Veterans
who have fought for our country.
Thank you one and all.
A special thanks to Ken who
served 20 years in the Navy.
Other Veterans in my family are
my dad, grandfather, step-dad, father in law
and four of my uncles.

It was a beautiful morning for walking today. Though the temperature was only 33 degrees and it was quite windy at times, it was crisp, clear and sunny. I dressed in layers and was perfectly warm. I haven't been to the lake in a couple of days so i walked around there this morning. Quite a few people out and i stopped a few times to talk to my walking friends.
I saw the heron standing in the water and there were a whole lot of geese down at the narrow end of the lake. I took this picture. It is a bit dark because i took the picture into the sun.
A little red tree still holding on to its pretty read leaves.
I walked down to the water and took this picture.
Walking along a path in the sunshine along the lake.
The runner up ahead just ran past me.
Walking along it was nice to hear the wind in the trees and every once in a while a bunch of leaves would come falling down all around me. It was a perfect fall day morning!!!
I walked just over 6 miles.

Ken is off from work for Veterans Day. I made us pancakes for breakfast, then got a loaf of bread started in the bread machine.
We went out and did a few errands and picked up a sandwich at Subway and ate it in the truck and people watched.
Since i've mentioned breakfast and lunch i might as well mention supper too. We are going to make hot sausage and onions and peppers. Ken eats his on a roll with sauce but i just like to eat them plain.
I'm in the middle of making chocolate chip cookies now. So far i haven't eaten any, but have eaten my fair share of dough!!
Enjoy your day.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )

Cookie dough is the best, I guess that's why they put it in ice cream. Enjoy your day.
Sounds like a perfect day so far. Please thank Ken for his service for John and me. We salute all the veterans in your family!
Great walk, Karen... There's still some pretty Fall colors in your area... Cannot get over the number of geese in that one picture...
Hope you two have a nice day. Your meals sound YUMMY.
Hugs,
Betsy
Pretty, pretty pictures from your walk. I took a walk through the woods today and delighted in the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet.
It is a great day to remember and be thankful for our veterans. Please pass along my thanks to Ken.
It sounds as if you've had a great day so far. It's nice that Ken had the day off so you could enjoy it together. Did you save any cookie dough for me?
Just caught up on your blog. I can't believe you got a new vehicle. It's beautiful and I'm envious! Good choice.
Amen to that, Karen! Saluting all of the Veterans yesterday. That includes my late step-father, my older brother, and my nephew. I enjoyed your photos. Art
Please thank Ken, for me, for his Service to our Country!
Ahhhh yes, our Indian Summer has flown, up in this neck of the woods. :-) 'Twas lovely while it lasted though. 34 degrees out, when I came down this (Sat.) morning. (But I was not out! I'm *chicken*)
Gentle hugs,

So good to hear from you, Karen! Thank you for your kind comments on my last post. Looks like I will have more time to visit my blogging friends--I think I am going to have no choice but to leave my job. My daughter is unable to take care of herself alone or take care of her children. I'm not sure how we're going to survive--I'm too young to get retirement and this will cause me a penalty for sure. Doesn't seem fair, but it is what it is. I'll have to depend on Him to take care of us.
My MAIN concern is my daughter's health--appreciate the prayers!

Having seen your sunrise and sunset times I checked ours: sunrise today was 7.42 and sunset was 4.11.
You're wise to catch the best of the daylight hours.
Absolutely great pictures and a real nice walk.
