Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thurmont, Md

No morning walk for me today.  We left early and drove up to Thurmont, Md for their annual fall festival.
It was a beautiful sunny day and just perfect for walking around town looking at all the booths.  Lots of beautiful handcrafted things as well as lots of delicious looking and smelling food.
We got there early but it wasn't long before crowds of people started arriving.

I didn't buy anything but Ken got a couple pair of gloves.  We also came home with some fresh roasted peanuts made right here.
For lunch we bought some catfish and fries.  It is the best catfish ever.  It was worth the drive there just for that!  I ate all the fish but left most of the fries.
We left for home a little after 1:00 and drove the back roads.  It was really a nice day.

I wore my pedometer and we walked 4.5 miles.
I even found a lucky penny.
Sunrise 7:10
Sunset  6:40

Hope you enjoyed your day as well.

I wish that I could say that the drive to Fryeburg was worth the hotdog alone. LOL!

Glad that you had such a good day to take a little drive. Finding gloves, catfish, peanuts, and a lucky penny makes it all a little more special.

Now I'm wondering if we could possibly have walked three miles yesterday.

Love fall days like this! We will be going to our State fair next week, and I am so looking forward to that, I wonder how many miles we will walk. Enjoy your weekend.

LT and I were looking for a place to roam around today...ended up in Lewes, DE; we could have easily gone to Thurmont, MD! (Well, not quite as easily, but certainly it could be done)! I've missed every Fall Festival event I've known about so far, though. Not a good year for my schedule, I guess. I'd have eaten the catfish, too!

Looks like a fun time. My husband & I went on a little jaunt yesterday and also took the back roads. I love driving the backroads especially on a nice fall day.

I forgot about their fair. I will need to put it on my calendar for next year. Looks like fun.
