Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Thursday

The weather this morning was just a nice as yesterday. : )  I walked one of my connect the path routes.  I saw a deer with her two young ones on the first path i walked.
School has started and it was so nice to see kids riding their bikes to school instead of getting rides from their parents.  There sure were a lot of them too!!  I counted 18!  That must be some kind of record.
Walking out of the dark path into into the light.
I took the picture looking into the sun.
The sun was behind the sign.
As i walked passed the house that got the pool,
i noticed that they are planting shrubs by the fence
and snapped this picture.
Now that school has started i saw the crossing guard and stopped a few minutes to chat with her.
Other than her and the bike riders i didn't see anyone else out this morning.
A new month starts today so i added up the coins i found walking this month.
  • 3 quarters
  • 3 dimes
  • 3 nickels
  • 15 pennies
 I walked 6.2 miles
Sunrise 6:36
Sunset 7:39

My friend Mary Jo got dropped off here at my house by her son late this morning.  She you might remember is my friend from church.  We sit together at church and have had lunch at different places but she had never been to my house.  So i gave her the house tour and we had a visit.  Then we walked up the street to Lee Lynn's and had lunch and talked some more.  Why is that with some people you just never run out of things to talk about.  I know quite a lot of people like that!! : )  I meant to have the server take our picture but forgot to once we got there.  Maybe next time.
We walked back to the house and then i drove her home.  It started to drizzle a bit and the FJ was out front so i drove her home in that.  The drizzle never did amount to anything.
It is always nice to talk to and enjoy good food with a good friend! : )

A bit of a traffic jam down at the corner by the light near my house.  The final lines are getting painted today and the traffic lights getting adjusted for the new lanes.  Should make traffic flow more smoothly now. : )

I finished my book and will be dropping it off at the library later on tonight.  I'm here at home waiting for Ken to get home from work.  Another late day for him.  We plan to go out for a pizza.  Hope he's not much later because i'm  getting hungry!!

Hope your day was a good one.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )

It doesn't happen often enough for me, I love going out to lunch with my friends. Unlike Ken, John doesn't like to go out to eat. Great pictures today. Sad to see the sun coming up later and setting earlier. At least we have this great weather for a bit longer. I've started looking into the seniors activities in my neighborhood for the upcoming winter.

Hi Karen, Gee--you are getting RICH by finding all of those coins... Do you think some children are dropping them on their way to school?????

Sounds like Mary Jo is a good friend.. I have a couple of blog friends that we talk over and over in emails. This has turned into some great friendships. Friends are just so important.

Hugs,
Betsy

I need to try walking in the mornings now that I'm retired. I have no excuse whatsoever now! We still do our 1 mile in the evening which is better than nothing at least.

Your lunch with Mary Jo sounds so nice. How great that you can walk to the restaurant too.
Hope you and Ken enjoyed our pizza.
Wishing you a nice holiday weekend.

Love shots, into the sun. :-)

Mmmmm, betcha' those are quick growing shrubs/trees. And you won't see much of the pool area, next season. :-)

Autumn is here! And lovely it is! :-)

I know Mary Jo's company was great at lunch, but I'm wondering about the food. The last time couple times we were there it wasn't so good. I found out, too, that their award-winning chef left about 7 months ago. I'd noticed a difference in the food, but didn't know why.

Love the quote at the end. I think that is something for all of us.
