Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another new look coming soon!!

This morning was cloudy, a bit on the humid side and very still when I went for my walk.  I walked straight down my road for a couple of miles, turned right and walked to the wet land park.  As I said before I don't walk this way very often.  One of the roads I have to walk on is a pretty busy road during week with everyone  going to work and school and part of it doesn't have a sidewalk.  I only walk it on weekends because there are hardly any cars early in the morning then.
Only saw squirrels and birds and just a few people.

The paper boy was out delivering papers.  They don't ride bikes to do that anymore.  This kid was driving the route in a car and he was driving like a maniac!!!  Four way flashers going and zooming around corners with wheels squealing.  He went from one side of the road to the other throwing papers in driveways.  He was actually quite accurate where they landed which was amazing considering how fast he was driving.  A car coming the other way just pulled over to the side to let him fly by.  I just stood and watched amazed!  He was soon gone down the road and I continued on my way!

This is the little drainage pond that is at the beginning of the path
that leads to the pond in the wetland park.
This path is in the wetland park which has a plank path in places like here
and also a paved path.
The path opens out here at the pond which I walk around.
There were no ducks or geese here today like there usually are.  Also I usually see lots of red winged black birds but they too were missing this morning.  I passed two others walking around the pond.  The pond is a good turn around place for me so after walking around the pond I walked back home the same way I had come.
I walked 6.4 miles.

After our pizza steak subs for dinner last night which were very good by the way we stopped to get some more ice cream.  I picked out another limited time flavor called Batterup.  It's yellow cake batter flavored ice cream swirled with chocolate cake icing.  I'm glad I picked it out because it was delicious!!

No sign of the garbage trucks yesterday either so all the cans lined the street for another day.  But then this morning the truck showed up and hauled all our garbage away.

I sewed some weave-it squares together this morning and made a couple more squares.
Ken was out on his own this morning but we met up for lunch and then did a few errands.  Stopped at the library and I got the book that I had on reserve,  the new Mary Higgins Clark book.

I've been playing around with the look of my blog and I'm not happy with what I have now.  I'm tired of playing around with it so I will leave it for now.  But a change will be coming soon!!

I think I've spent enough time on this computer so off I go.
Till next time........
A happy day to you.

I generally don't like light print on dark backgrounds but you choices look great!

Playing with the blog is not always fun. You should've taken a movie of that crazy newspaper delivery guy. Wow. Glad that that all happens early in the morning.

Your new ice cream flavor sounds crazy. I don't think that I'd have been brave enough to try it without a recommendation. If I ever see it...

-chuckle- Your quote. So honest. And so unusual. To admit such, I mean, is unusual. Love it! And love it, that you put it on your blog.

Of course we do lotsa' *good stuff,* for our own *good*! We don't holler about how we know we are getting perks out of it, of course! But we smile inside, when the *good stuff* perks come to us. Best of both worlds, and all that jazzzzzzzzz. -grin-

Gracious! Such a good quote, that I may have to *nick it*! :-)))))))))

Hooray for playing with blog look!

Also hooray for knowing when to stop for now and come back.

Actually, I do hope you come back. Since you said it, I can say I don;t like it either. It's a kind of a too much *Sad Pumpkin Time* look, for me. -grin-

It is ok, to say that, when the blogger has already said they are not happy with it either, isn't it???????????????????
