Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The Secret

A poem by Ralph Cushman

I met God in the morning
When my day was at its best,
And His presence came like sunshine
Like a glory in my breast.

All day long His presence lingered,
All day long He stayed with me,
And we sailed in perfect calmness
O'er a very troubled sea.

Other ships were blown and battered
Other ships were sore distressed,
But the winds that seemed to drive them
Brought to me sweet peace and rest.

And I thought of the other mornings
With a keen remorse of mind,
When I, too had loosed the moorings
With the Savior left behind.

I think I know the secret
Learned from many a troubled way,
You must meet God in the morning
If you want Him through the day.

Have a happy and blessed Sunday my friends.

About the blog look.  I wasn't happy with this but got tired of playing around with it.  After looking at it again this morning, it doesn't seem so bad and I'll probably keep it for a little while.

Nice poem :)
I think this blog look is nice and clean.

(if you change the comment part to pop up box it is easier to leave a comment in your blog, lately it has been problems with leaving comments in some blogs and with the pop up box it seems to solve the problem.)

It is sad you can not change it to the pop up box. I hope blogger fix these problems soon. I will still try to leave all my blogfriends comments.

Thanks for sharing the poem...good words to live by. I like your new look, but I know why you mean about working with it so long you don't really know wht you like. I want a new lok...never liked the one I have now but was frustrated not knowing what I wanted! It's a lot like clothes shopping for me!
