Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Needed a bit of a break from blogging but I'm back and ready to post once again. : )
I've been walking every morning, sometimes around the lake, sometimes on my connect the path route and like today, where I walked wherever my feet took me.  Starting yesterday I'm back to walking at my normal time of 6:30.  Getting up at 5:00 was starting to get to me and I was feeling tired by late afternoon.  Though I tried to go to bed an hour earlier, most nights that didn't work out!  I guess I just need that last hour of sleep.

Mostly it's been hot walking but today it was quite pleasant out with a temperature of 65! I didn't see many people out where I walked but I'm sure there were lots of people out around the lake.  I walked mostly on sidewalks and around some townhouse neighborhoods and down just one of the paths.
Walking along by some townhouses I saw a little boy about 3 years old walking around in pajamas and bare feet.  He walked up to me and starting talking and showed me some Lego's he was holding.  He just didn't look like he was supposed to be outside and I asked him where he lived and if he was supposed to be outside.  Just then a door opened and out walked his mom, happy to see him in front of the house. : )  She had just noticed he wasn't in the house.  He got a hug and a stern talking to.
I continued on my walk happy that all was well.

I saw a couple of deer and saw and heard lots of birds.
It was nice to be out walking on a nice sunny morning.
I walked 6.6 miles.

Sunset 8:15
*******************************************
Yesterday was garbage day and the garbage cans are still all lined up down the street this morning.  Have no idea what happened but I'm sure they will be along today sometime.  I'm thinking maybe the truck broke down.

The last time I made chocolate chip cookies, the cookie sheets that I've been using for the past 30 years or so came to the end of their lives.  I use the kind with an air space between two sheets and water must had gotten in-between them because while the cookies were baking in the oven I heard a pop sound and the cookie sheet had buckled up in the middle with hissing steam coming out around the edges.  The second sheet did the exact same thing.  Not to worry the cookies survived! : )
This week I went out and bought a couple more cookie sheets.  I got the same kind with the air between the two sheets.  I think that may be one of the secrets to baking delicious chewy cookies.  If these cookie sheets last 30 years they may outlast me! : )
While I was at Target getting the cookie sheets I happened to pass by some dresses on sale and saw one I liked.  I tried it on and still liked it so I bought it.  That is always the way it works for me.  When I'm looking for a dress I can't find one, then I just happen upon one when I'm not looking.  I've learned to just buy it then when I see something I like.  It has three quarter sleeves and is short but I'll wear black tights with it.
I paid Cheryl a visit this week and got my hair colored again.  Boy those six weeks sure go by fast.  I like my hair dark and the last couple of times the color didn't seem to be as dark or hold up as well so Cheryl changed products and this time my hair came out darker and I love the color.  We shall see if it holds up for the six weeks.  Gray hair is harder to cover and I think mine is extra hard.

I've finished sewing the nine white squares together and then onto the nearly completed white sample afghan/bedspread.  Only one more row to go.  Nine more squares!!
I've also made about a dozen more weave-it squares.

I've been to the library this week too, just to return a book and I didn't bring any more home!!  Just now I got an email from the library saying a book I have on hold is now ready for pickup, so I'll be going back again tomorrow to pick it up.

I'm home today getting things done around the house and I'll be doing some reading, knitting or weave-it making.
Looking forward to going out to eat tonight.  We are going out for Pizza Steak Subs and will share a Greek Salad at Pasta Blitz. : )

Last night we had BLT's with a home grown tomato that Ken came home from work with from a co-worker.  The one tomato was enough for three double decker sandwiches!  We usually make BLT's but instead of the bacon we use bacon bits.  It's pretty good but nothing like the real thing.  Yesterday I cooked up some real bacon and we used that.  What a treat!!  Yummy!

Hope all is well in your part of the world.  Have a great day and be thankful for the little things.

Happyone : )

and your life will take on new enthusiasm.

I was thinking about you this morning and hoping all was well. I seem to be taking a blogging break too. Not intentionally, just can't seem to think of much that seems blog worthy.
Cute dress you found. I agree with Auntie that it will look great on you.
I was getting my hair colored every 5 weeks and just had to change to 4 weeks. Today is 3 weeks and the gray roots are showing like crazy. Sometimes I think it's a losing battle.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your day. We are having a rainy day and much cooler. Hooray, as we need both.

I thought you must be on a blogging break. One needed in my corner as well.

The advice about getting something when you see it is extra good common sense. I remember your telling me that before. Have I done it yet? No. Do I regret it? Yes. Cute dress!

Cute dress...and bacon is a real treat in our house, too. Can't have it all the time, but sometimes there's just nothing that substitutes!

Welcome back. I don't take much time wondering where you are ... I just send you an email. Once you said you were on a break ... I was OK. Everyone needs a break now and then.

Funny, I went to the mall yesterday to do a watch repair and I did some dress shopping too. I'll blog about it next week as I have about 4 postings scheduled. I didn't buy anything because I am looking for a dress for the wedding in May and I know this will be a hard pick for me. Boy, was I right!
