Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No title today

This morning was another sunny, hot and humid one with a temperature of 75 already when I left for my walk.  There wasn't even a hint of a breeze so it was quite warm. I just wandered around not walking any particular route.  I stayed on the paths in the woods to stay in the shade.  Someone seems to have lost a bike on one of the paths I walked along.
I saw a fox today.  He looked fat and healthy and I imagine he was pretty warm with that fur coat he has to wear.  I saw very few people out and it was a very quiet morning.  Since I wasn't walking on any route I really didn't know how far I was walking.  I started getting really thirsty so headed back home.  I didn't want to look down at my pedometer because I figured if I wasn't close to six miles I would want to keep walking and I really needed to get a drink.  When I got home and looked at my pedometer I realized I had walked 7.2 miles.  No wonder why I was so thirsty.  I always say I could live without air conditioning but I tell you, it was so nice to walk into a nice cool house and drink a nice big cold glass of water. : )
I added up the coins I found this month and the total came to $1.19.  Here it is all in a little stack.

I looked out the window and there sitting in one of the wildflower pots was a Mourning Dove.  I thought maybe she was laying and egg or two but she eventually just flew off.
My two loads of laundry dried really fast today out on the line.  Laundry is about all the work I did today.  I just couldn't get motivated to do much. I read some more of World Without End and should be done with it very soon.  It's taken me forever to read it.  It's really good too.  There is 1014 pages and I'm up to page 895.  Maybe I'll finish it later this evening.

I ate the last piece of birthday cake up for breakfast and now I can get back to eating normal.  I so did enjoy that cake but I really need to lose a few pounds now!!

I'm off now to figure out what to make for supper.
Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A smile from me to you.

That abandoned kid's bike, is kind of a scary sight. Hope all is well, with the owner. Can't figure out why a kid would willingly abandon a bike on a path...

And it wouldn't have happened that early, in the morning. So it had to have been abandoned, at least the day before...

And even if kid had hurt himself and just walked home, why wouldn't someone else have come back and retrieved the bike?

-sigh-

Your day and mine sound somewhat similar except I didn't get out to take a walk. I did, however, do some laundry and a lot of reading. I had a hard time getting motivated for much else today. It is so hot it seems the air conditioning has been running non-stop. I am so thankful to have it on days like this.

I'm wondering who stole the bike from whom...

Seven point two miles, but who's looking? Not you!I find that so funny. Nothing is as refreshing as a nice glass of cool Adam's Ale. It hits the spot every time.

Weather is a bit dicey here tonight. I'm online between thunderstorms and now I hear the rumble of thunder so will get off. You'll be the first to see my new do.

Hi There, Mourning Doves just tickle me.. They love to plop down somewhere and just sit... They'll jump in our bird feeder plate and 'hog' it.... ha

I couldn't walk 7.2 miles without having water along the way, especially in this hot weather... I admire you.

Have a good Thursday.
Hugs,
Betsy

You continue to amaze me how you walk in this humidity. The heat is one thing, the humidity is a pool of sweat, of course you are thirsty! Wow, $1.19, I thought it was more, hey better than none. Love the dove!
