This azalea bush that I came across this morning is one of the biggest I've seen. It's not really that full, I guess because it is in the shade but it sure is big.
I found two pennies and
I walked 6.3 miles.

When I walked down to get the mail I found another lucky penny in the road - that makes three for the day. Doc Martin from Netflix arrived in the mail so we will be watching that in a little while. Now I just have to decide what I'd like for my snack tonight. I'm thinking a piece of banana bread and two shortbread cookies.
Lots of rain again today but the sun made a showing every so often. I was planning on going out but I ended up baking instead. I really didn't have to go anywhere, just thought I'd get out since I've been home all week.
I made some shortbread cookies that had to be rolled out and Ken came up with a great idea to keep them a uniform quarter inch thick. He cut me two quarter inch strips of styrene (which he uses for his train modeling) and I put the dough between them and rolled it out. I can't roll it less than a quarter inch because the rolling pin is on the styrene. I didn't think to take the picture until I was finished rolling the dough out and had the cookies already cut out, but it's a great idea and all the cookies were exactly the same thickness.
I tried out another new kind of bread in my bread machine. This time it was Oatmeal Bread and it is very good. I'll definitely make it again.
I had some bananas that were too brown to eat so I made Banana Bread also. I'm going to have to start buying bananas two at a time so I don't have to keep making bread out of them.
Here's the finished products of my home baking.
Baking takes up more time than I think and cleaning up takes a while too. I make such a mess when I'm in the kitchen. After getting out of the kitchen there wasn't much time left for anything else.
Late in the afternoon it was good to plop down in my chair and read until Ken got home.
I know we just went out for pizza last night, but Ken called me this afternoon and said that our friend Jackie emailed him and asked if we would like to go out to eat with her and her husband Kerry tonight. They wanted to go out for pizza and Kenny knowing how much I like pizza said sure we'll go along with you. So that's how I got to eat pizza two days in a row. : )

Hope all is well in your part of the world.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )
Of course I look at the glass half full.
The only time I would look at it half empty
is when I think about how good the first half tasted.

Great idea from Ken! I saw the idea for paint sticks at Suzanne's and have them at the ready for next time I bake a rolled cookie.
This is getting eerie. I baked cookies today also. Not shortbread ones, though. We also went out to eat. Not pizza though.
I'm sure that you're hoping for a sunny day. Six days of rain is enough for me.
HI There, I'm going to call you the Lucky Penny Girl!!!!! Pizza sounds good... I love it---but I'd rather have some shortbread cookies and banana bread!!!!!! Yum!
Hugs,
Betsy
You've got plenty of choices for snack. I had carrot bread this morning at the hotel, and it was very moist - like carrot cake but without the sweet cream cheese icing. Your rain is producing monster azalea bushes!
It all looks so yummy. I was a better baker when my daughter was little and I stayed home. These days I fly off to work and the day gets crazy. Soon, though, soon...when I retire!!
Sounds like Ken came up with a great solution to getting the cookies even. They sure do look good. I have 3 bananas that are past their prime. I may have to do some baking today.
Yes, it is hard to tell what's going on weatherwise, but I think we can count on getting wet!
I think today I'll make focaccia!
I-am-so-sick-of-this-NE-rainy-weather! -pout-
Your baking looks delicious. :-)

Enjoy Doc Martin. I have the series and I'm waiting for the next season to be released. At least I think they are releasing another season, which reminds to check on it. British TV programs are hard to beat.

You should consider your own bakery, you do so well with it! What a great idea Ken had to make all the cookies even, bet that tool could be marketed. You just reminded me I forgot to put bananas on my grocery list and didn't pick them up. That is a huge Azalea bush, one of the larger ones I've seen too. Enjoy your evening of pizza and the movie!
Hi Wanda,
Yes, I agree about the British shows. They are my favorites. I've got a netflix for the new Upstairs Downstairs coming tomorrow.
A happy day to you.
