Only saw a few other people out walking dogs. A pretty quiet morning.
Walked over by the liquor store hoping to find some coins and I was not disappointed. I found 1 quarter, 2 dimes, a nickle and a penny.
I walked 6.4 miles

This morning I cut up the Pumpkin Bread I made the other day, put plastic wrap on it and brought it over to church. For years the Saturday before Easter there is a big Easter Egg Hunt at church and people come from all over to take part in it. Today I went to help fill the little plastic eggs with candy for the hunt next Saturday. Some of us brought food and we ate and talked for a bit until getting down to work.
Blogger friend Kathy, identified the owl I saw in yesterday's post as a Barred Owl. Thanks Kathy. : ) Hear what they sound like below.
Hope your Saturday is a happy day for you.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )
This is the plate I fixed for myself - my breakfast and lunch combined.
Yes, that is a piece of my pumpkin bread there too.
The eggs and candy sit here waiting to get filled.
And here is where the work got done.
We filled 3,500 eggs.
It was fun. Pastor caught me putting a tootsie roll in my mouth instead of an egg. :-) While there I got to talking to a few women and they told me about another knitting, quilting, sewing group that meets on Monday mornings. I told them I'd stop by some Monday morning. Maybe I'll take up quilting. : ) I could always take on another project!!So now I'm back home and it is a very rainy day. I'll just putter around the house this afternoon. Ken went to a gun show with a friend for the day but he'll be home supper time and then we will go out to eat somewhere.

but in every leaf in spring time.

Getting together to fill the Eggs. What a fun and sweet project. Everything goes faster/easier, with a happy group.
Thank you and Kathy, for the owl video. I love owls.
Gentle hugs,
.♥.
How fun! and what a nice sense of community too!
I loved your Martin Luther quoste yesterday
Barred owl...lucky you
I have only heard them in our woods in Galena
and I'm telling you that's not what they sound like at night.....they sound more like spirits howling like in the woods
I love thatvideo
I even checked out Kathy's blog...nice
Ah! A tootsie roll snatcher!!! A woman after my own heart. :)
Thanks for the mention. Their call is distinctive and changes in syllables when they are mating. (Sounds like "who cooks for you..") The owls Suz mentioned above could be barn or screech owls -- I'm not sure where she lives. Googling "owl calls" may give her the answer, though.
It's very windy here today too.
Sounds like you had a fun day stuffing all of those eggs. The kids are going to be thrilled to find them.
I enoyed the owl video. That is an interesting call he has.
Looked like a fun day.
What a cute face that owl has! I see an Eastern spruce in that forest scene.
Caught red-handed, eh? Ha! Too cute.
Quilting? I think you'd enjoy quilting.
I'm going to start hanging out at the liquor store if I can be guaranteed 51 cents every day.
Hi Happy One, Happy Palm Sunday to you. As you know, I worked for the church for many years. We did the same thing ---stuffed a gazillion eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt. The craziest thing about all of that was that once we had the 'hunt' --it only lasted about 10 minutes... ha ha.. But --kids love it.
Your banana bread looks great. YUM......
I've never seen an owl like that before --other than pictures. I loved hearing his 'call'... Interesting. Thanks...
Have a blessed day. By the way--I love the furniture you got... Very nice!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Catching up on my blogs. I remember when our family stuffed the eggs with candy and hide them for the hunt, years ago when my nieces were younger (now they're 21). Nasty storms we had yesterday, glad you made it safely through your (profitable) walk.
