Though the temperature was 57 this morning, it was cloudy and dreary when I walked but it was nice not having to wear layers. Maybe this time the warmer weather will last. The sun did try to come out but didn't make it while I was walking.
I walked around the lake and there were quiet a few people out again. Lots of fisherman out again too. Yesterday when I walked I saw a man and his three young daughters by the lake fishing. He had one of them sitting in a chair holding her pole, the second one he was helping to get her pole ready and the third daughter was sitting in a chair reading a book. I smiled because that would have been me, the one reading. It was nice to see a dad out with his three daughters and he actually seemed to be enjoying it.
The cherry blossoms are all out here along the path by the lake. The picture would have been nicer had the sun been out, but who knows how long the blossoms will last so I took this picture anyway.
If you look really close you can see a fisherman down by the water and on the left a man sitting on a bench. The man on the bench was playing a guitar.
I saw Goldfinches for the first time this year - such pretty little birds. They always make me smile. The white egret was at the waters edge and I saw the heron fly low over the water following the brook.
The pier is just about done now. Today they were putting in forms to pour more concrete for making a sidewalk down to the pier.
My pedometer is acting up and not recording the correct amount of miles. I walked a 6.4 route today but my pedometer only read 4 miles. It is probably the battery. I'll check it one more time tomorrow, if it is wrong again I'll have to get a new battery.
Another day and another great walk. : )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mid morning the sun came out and the temperature crept up in the 70's. I got a couple of loads of laundry hung out to dry, had some breakfast and then headed out to the library. I had a couple of books waiting for me to pick up and found one on the shelf too. I just finished reading The Face of a Stranger by Anne Perry. I thought it was a great book. It is the first Monk novel in the series. He is a London detective in the Victorian era.
I drove the FJ today because it was parked in front of the garage where my car was and I was too lazy to move it out of the way. I like driving the FJ too, it's a fun car to drive and I can sure see good being up so high. : )
I'm about to have some lunch and then I hope to get some work around the house done. I have blogs to catch up on reading and since it is turning out to be such a nice day, I'll sit out on the deck and start one of those books I picked up today.
Have a good Monday and take the time to enjoy some small wonder you come across today.
I must admit I did wonder if all was well when you didn't post for a few days. Glad to know you were just taking a break.
How nice to see people out fishing and playing their guitars. Everybody seems to get happier when the weather starts warming up.
Have a good lunch and enjoy the rest of your Monday.
I, too, have been wondering where you've been and hoped that you were off for the weekend having fun.
Anne Perry is a favorite with me. In fact, just this morning I grabbed one of her books out of the donation pile thinking better of it. It was one that my mother had given me called "Christmas Stories" or something like that.
I can almost see the man and his daughters and I'd have been the one reading a book, too. I'm glad that he allows her to do a different thing.
I'm so glad you're back! I missed you, your blog and pictures. Glad to hear all's well. I used to make cards on my computer too until my color printer broke. The money I was spending in ink was crazy anyway. I trashed that printer now replaced by the standard black&white. Wow, someone playing the guitar, that's a new one. You've motivated me to start walking, along with this lovely weather we're having. I went to a local park today, reminded me of you. I need to get a pedometer, any recommendations? Next time, let me know when you are blog breaking, you had me worried! :)
Hi Happy One, Sounds like you had a nice break and weekend. Glad you had a nice walk. You have a very pretty area where you can walk and always see different things. I enjoy walking with you 'virtually' that is...ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Wow you have such a beautiful walking path! Looks like it would be so nice to walk there.
Hooray for the little blogging holiday! I think we all need one of those, every once in a while. We know when. And it does us good, to take them, when that "when" happens. :-)
My new temp thingy is reading 78 as I sit here, at 5:15PM on Mon. Quite lovely, but cold front coming I guess. Who knows. Whatever is coming, will come. No need fretting about it, ahead of time.
Yes, I 'm in a great mood, since I spent about 2 hours outside this morning, doing pruning and yard stuff. Sooooooooooo gooooooooooooood. I enjoy this kind of activity outside, as well as walking. But soon enough, it will be too hot to enjoy it.
Gentle hugs,
.♥.
Glad you are back,enjoyed the walk as usual, and to be serenaded while walking is so cool. It seems that spring is really beginning to stay where you live. We have gone from cold to high 80's today, and I have savored every moment. Thanks for sharing.
Glad your back but I have to admit I only check post about once a week or less now. I am so sorry. I so enjoy your post and your comments on mine. I wish I could keep up with everyones as well has you all keep up with me.
My son and I used to go fishing once or twice a week in the summer . I do miss that. But now he won't go fishing so I guess I burned him out on fishing. He says he liked it than but not now. But I hope that he takes his kids when he has them . It is a wonderful time for parents and kids to connect. Love your pictures . Have a great week.
The photo of your cherry blossoms is wonderful. Even though your temps have been fairly cold this spring, the trees are still keeping to their schedule. The grass is so green, too, from all your moisture. It looks like a perfect spring morning.
Wondered where you were! Glad all is well.
So I wasn't the only one who was worried. I sent her an email yesterday. Short one. "you ok." and you were.
See you can't even take a break cause we will find you. :-)
HI Karen, it has been a while that I was on the internet as well. My internet connection had developed some problem. But it feels so good to be back. I did enjoy the cherry blossoms. They are just beautiful beyond words. I am glad that you took a picture.
The weather here has been bit patchy. Sun in and Sun out. We have a cloudy day today.
Welcome back - breaks are good! I love the cherry trees. Ours have gone by but they are so pretty. Art
The cherry blossoms are LOVELY!!!
