Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A happy sunny walk

While walking today someone asked how I was.  My answer, It's early morning, I'm out walking around the lake in the sunshine, I'm great. : ) Their reply was, Me too.
Temperature was 44 when I started my walk and thank goodness the wind has finally stopped.  Lots of people out this morning and I stopped to chat to a few walking friends so I was out a little longer than usual.
Lots of wild life around.  I stopped to watch sea gulls take dive bombs into the lake to catch fish.  An Osprey glided through the air, the beaver swam by, the heron standing on the rocks at the edge took off in flight and I saw 8 deer.  Two American coots were on the lake as well as all the geese and mallard ducks.  I spotted the green heron also.  Quite a lively morning.
The red bud trees are beginning to bloom now as you can see from the picture.  My lake is just off to the right up along the path just a bit.
It was a great walk and I walked my usual 6.4 miles.
Yesterday I didn't walk around the lake but along the paths in the woods and I spotted the Barred Owl again and got a little better picture this time.
Lots of trees and branches down along the paths too from all the rain and wind.

Ah, I've found another thing to do that is easy for me to get obsessed with.  I like to do jigsaw puzzles and my mom made me aware of a website where you do them on line.  You can also add your own photos to make puzzles and others can do yours.
I've made a puzzle out of my Header.  Click HERE to check out the site or do my puzzle.

So nice to have a sunny day without the wind to start out the week.  Clothes out on the line, I've just caught up with blog reading and now I'm about to get some work done.

Enjoy your Monday.
A smile from me to you.

It was sunny here for us today while it was raining the whole day yesterday. It was a good thunderstorm though I could enjoy it only by the sound of the thunder. And, I loved the picture with the blossoms. They look so beautiful.

Neat website, Happy One... I always enjoy working jigsaw puzzles.. When my kids were teens, we had a card table set up ---and started a puzzle. The family would all take turns stopping by the table to work on the puzzle.

Love your little Owl. Wonder if he has a nest nearby????

Have a great day...
Hugs,
Betsy

Great, Karen, just what I need is something else to take my mind off cleaning. LOL! Now I really have to go find what an American coot is because I used to know, but am not sure anymore. I thought an American coot is any guy who likes to fish or hunt, smoke, drink beer, and wear plaid hunting jackets and hats with flaps. No?

Thanks for always finding us the best quotes...I really like this one.

Great owl picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope no one was near that tree, when it fell.

I don't do puzzles, but glad you enjoy them. :-)

We didn't walk today, but we did a couple of hours of great pruning and hacking and cutting, and neat-ing-up of an area of our yard! I love it!!!

Gentle hugs,
...♥...

Ha ha, I was wondering about the American Coot and thinking it was some type of duck, but I like Vee's description much better.
I'm going to bookmark that jigsaw puzzle site. I am constantly amazed by everything that can be found on the internet. This looks like fun. So glad you told us about it.

Red Bud trees are just gorgeous - some of my favorite spring blossoms. Thanks for the website - I may use it with my Grands.

Wow, you did get a better picture of the owl. Looks like he's checking you out too. Sad to see that tree down. Sure were some nasty storms all along Virginia and North Carolina this weekend. Funny you mentioned the puzzles. My John does puzzles online too. He downloads them and does them on his computer, coincidence. Sure grateful for such a gorgeous day.

PS You are really blessed to be able to see this creature TWICE! We've been trying for several years.
