Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

The temperature was a warm 34 degrees this morning but it was a cloudy day and it felt like it was going to rain.  I missed the sun but it was still good to be outside.  I walked along one of my connect the path routes and walked on sidewalks along the street and on paths in the woods.  The birds were once again singing their morning songs and walking along the stream listening to the water really made for a peaceful walk.  I can't put into words the feeling of contentment I get on these morning walks of mine.
As I was walking down the sidewalk, up ahead I saw a parade of five deer come out of the woods, walk across the road, and then go back in the woods on the other side. Luckily the cars saw them in time and stopped to let them cross the street.  It was just neat to watch because they didn't run.  It was a though they were walking across the street in a cross walk.
Only saw a handful of people out.
I walked 6.2 miles.

I didn't really feel like going to the commissary today but I made up my list anyway and once I was out in my car driving there I was glad that I decided to go.  It's always fun driving my car and I didn't run into any crazy drivers there and back.
Once I was back home, put everything away, and had some lunch, I was ready to do what I really wanted to do today - start a new knitting project.  If you are curious to know what it is, check it out HERE.  I didn't have much luck with it though and maybe I should have done some cleaning instead.  :-)
It's supposed to start raining tonight and continue all day tomorrow.  I'm saving the house cleaning I have to do for then.

When Ken gets home from work we have a few things we need to run out to do so will stop somewhere and have supper.  My vote is going to be for Mexican.
Well, now I'm going back and give that knitting project another try.

Hope your day was a happy one.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone :-)

Felt the same way about going shopping. Didn't want to go, almost talked myself out of it, but wound up going and being glad that I had. John will be really glad. :D Didn't get the same satisfaction driving the Impala that you got driving your Corvette, but that's another story. :D I wish that you would go there and try to describe what feeling you get. Then perhaps I'd be tempted to try to get that feeling, too. Contentment...peace...I get that you feel that way, but I can feel that way on my sofa. I think it has to do with endorphins. ;>

Mexican food sounds really good now that you mention it. Hope you get to go and enjoy it.
Good luck on your knitting project. I went to take a peek and it looks very pretty (esp. the color you chose :).

I like your photo of the boardwalk and path going into the distance. It looks like a beautiful wooded place to walk. I walked about 6 today - I'm in the city. It's so windy here, it almost blew me away! The color blue you chose for your new scarf project is very pretty.

Our house has woods on two sides (back and side), county parkland. Deer are come around often. Mostly when the weather is warmer, I don't see them much in the winter. A couple of weekends ago, the got spooked and ran across the street (parkland is across the street as well). My street is a cut through, so there are alot of speeders. I thought for sure one of the three would get clipped, thankfully, all three made it across and into the adjacent woods. I miss knitting. I haven't done it in over 30 years. When I was a young girl, my Grandma was an expert. I couldn't cast on the needle, once she got the cast on started, I was golden, I just kept going. Maybe someday I'll get back to it. Until then, I'll enjoy it through you. Thanks for the memory and smile :)

Oh tell me about it. I feel so lazy to buy the commissary sometimes.

That new header of yours is beautiful. Nice sunny day out there. We have a great weather these days. Bright and sunny although there is a cold wind too.

We got snow, after midnight, between Wed. and Thurs. Snow continued this morning, and turned to rain. U-G-H...

LOL. I know, not a thing I can do about it.

Stop moaning about the weather, "Auntie". Just keep playing in my New Blogger Background Thing. ,-)

Your new project is pretty. I does look like challenge but I know you are up to it.
