Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking today

Thanks every one for all the well wishes from yesterday.  It was a good day to be sick because it rained all day long.  I mostly sat in a chair the whole day relaxing.  I read a little bit and watched another Shirley Temple movie, Bright Eyes.  I drank lots of tea and orange juice and napped throughout the day.
I feel much much better today.  No headache and no sore throat.  I sound like I have a cold but that's about it.
This morning I planned to ease my way back to walking.  I was only going to go for 4 or 5 miles.  But once I got outside and started walking it felt so good that I just kept walking and ended up walking 6.8 miles.  The temperature was just under freezing at 31 and all 8 wooden foot bridges I walked over were icy. By the time I got home it was 35 degrees out.  There was a bit of a breeze and the sun was out and shining.  It was one of those mornings when after raining everything seems clean and fresh.  Look at this bright blue sky.  So pretty.
I notice the grass is starting to turn green at long last and it really feels as if spring is in the air.  I saw a Robing but no people along the paths so it was especially nice having the paths all to myself.  I  saw a few people walking along the sidewalk.  One was a teenager walking to the bus stop.  Most kids look at me like I'm from another planet when I saw good morning to them, but this girl actually smiled and said good morning back.  So nice.  :-)
I even found a dime this morning.

I must admit I'm really not doing very much today.  I'm just enjoying my day around the house.  Just doing  some reading and later I'd like to go up in the loft and make some more weave-it squares.  If I get ambitious I may iron Ken shirts.

I wish you all a happy day.

The Americans never walk.
In winter too cold and in summer too hot.

That's my sad story...the quote that is. Eight glazed bridges...ackkk. I so hate walking on slippery anything. Hope that you just do what you want to do today. I think you're pretty good about not putting undue pressure on yourself and what better reason to watch another movie than to rest and recuperate. Take it easy...

Today was absolutely glorious! No wonder you were energized!!

I felt kind of punk yesterday, too. And slept off and on. Like you said, with all that rain, it was a good day to be sick. Glad, though, that you're feeling better.

You fought off the bug, yay! It certainly was a beautiful morning. Nice, easy, laid-back day is just what you needed, take a couple of them, build your strength back, lol.

Hope you are having a good day. Your pics - especially your header pic -are beautiful. I can almost hear the brown grass making sounds in the breeze.

Sorry you were sick on Sunday. It was a good day to be in. Glad to hear you're feeling better. I know how happy you were to be back to your normal walking routine. And yes, it sure is nice to see the green and signs of spring.
