Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Monday

A very nice walk around the lake this morning even though it was dark when I started out.  The temperature was 32 degrees and when the sun did come up it was mostly cloudy, though there were a few peeks of sun coming through.  Not many people out around the lake, but that is usually the case on Monday mornings.  After the weekend it must be hard to get up and out for some people.  The wild life was out and about early this morning though and it was well worth it being up and out just to see it all.  Lots of activity with the geese - chasing each other, honking, flying around and they were just all over the place.  I saw a groundhog, the beaver for the first time, an eagle soaring over head, and the two herons flying around together.  The red winged black birds were out again too.  I see them in the same place most mornings now.
I came upon one person standing still and I thought he was holding a camera and about to take a picture and slowed down so I wouldn't ruin his picture.  Then I noticed he was texting.
I walked 6.7 miles.

Yesterday afternoon we stopped near the BWI airport at the park across the street from the landing strip and watched the airplanes land.  They came one after another.  Here's a picture I took through the windshield.
A couple more are HERE.

Rita's opened the beginning of the month and yesterday we stopped and had our first Gelati of the season.  We both had chocolate with cherry ice.   :-)

Got a couple of loads of laundry washed and hung outside on the line to dry and then went out this morning to do a few errands.  A nice sunny day to be out and about.

Back home for lunch and then got some cleaning done.  I've been really bad about getting housework done and this week, I'm back to my normal routine - starting upstairs and working my way down and doing a little bit each day and by the time Friday comes around everything is done.  This way I don't get tired of it and I do a better job.

I've gotten really behind on reading blogs and I'm hoping to get caught up later this evening.  Hard to keep up on the weekends.
For now I'm going to sit in a chair and read until Ken comes home, which doesn't give me very much time.  I'm not sure about supper yet, though I guess I'd better hurry up and decide.

Hope your Monday was a happy day and a good start to the week.
Happyone :-)

I'm hoping the man was texting about how beautiful your dawn was this AM!

Good capture of the plane through the windshield even. Some people will text anywhere. ☺

Actually my Monday at work was horrible, so I'm glad to be out blog visiting just now!

Great windshield shot! I work across the street from an airport, and keep hoping I can get the underside of Marine 2 when it brings Biden in ... but so far I've missed it every time even though I can see it coming in and LOW from my office window! I'm just a little slow on the draw!

I remember Sundays are very busy at the airports, everyone coming back home or headed to a vacation spot for the week. I haven't been to watch the planes in eons. With your pictures, I'll say I have. Hope the groundhog told you spring is here, I've seen it :)

As always enjoy my walk with you. I have been a little lax in finishing my cleaning too, and have blamed it on "spring fever." lol Thanks for sharing.

How fun to go watch the planes taking off and landing. I always like to think about where they're all going. Great pictures.
Your method for cleaning your house sounds very organized. I tend to ignore my upstairs now that the kids are gone and we rarely even go up there.

Guess your Monday-sun has moved up to us, for Tuesday. :-) Very welcome it is!!! I was thinking, maybe I'd just sit out on the back patio, in the sun, this afternoon.

Maybe that would help "bake" my cold along. :-)

Nahhhh, but it would feel goooooood! :-)

If only my moat-of-ice would all melt and I could *escape the castle* for a late winter walk. -grin-

Gentle hugs...
