Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Tuesday

This morning it was on the cool side with a cloudy sky for my walk.  It is quite dark out now when I leave, but before I'm to the lake it is starting to get light.  I should be able to see some really nice sunrises.  I walked around the lake going in the opposite direction and didn't take the upper path.  I saw that same kind of hawk I saw yesterday and I watched the heron come in for a landing this time instead of taking off like I usually do.  We had to walk around a small tree that fell down across the path.

Vee, here are a couple of pictures for you of the "giant white thing" across the lake in the picture from yesterday.  As you can see it's just a big tent.  Here is a closer view.
And this is taken right in front of it.
After walking around the lake I walked down the road a bit and walked down a path through the woods before finally walking back home.  A good long walk of seven and a half miles.  I should try getting the walk down to six miles again.
Found a lucky penny!

I passed by two women and one of them said to me.  "You are thin enough, you don't have to be out here walking".  My answer was, "That's why I'm thin, I walk every day.  I'm just maintaining."  Quite a few people say things like that to me.  Some people just don't get it.  Being thin doesn't just happen to most of us, it is hard work to be thin and healthy and to stay that way.  Walking is good for thin people too, it is good for a healthy heart.  Just because you are thin doesn't necessarily mean you are healthy!

I like when Tuesdays roll around because that's my knitting group day and I really enjoy seeing my knitting friends for a morning of knitting, talking and just being with friends.

I got home around 1:30 and had some lunch.  Now here I am on the computer and will be for a while.   Maybe I'll get a little reading in before Ken gets home from work.  Tuesday seems to be our pizza day lately so I'm looking forward to going out for pizza this evening.

Enjoy your Tuesday!!
Happyone :-)

The nerve of some people! I'd NEVER say anything like that to someone. I walk for pleasure; I exercise for pleasure as well. Some people just don't get it.

You are right. People don't get it.

People walk for more reasons than getting thin. Besides the positive cardiac benefits, mental health improvements, longer life with better health, an appreciation for the earth and the animals that inhabit it with us ... besides all that ... if you do it enough, it is just plain free fun!!

I agree, people have a lot of nerve with their comments, but it might have been just plain envy. Wasn't today just the best day at knitting, Tuesdays are simply great!

A tent! Well I'd never have guessed that. I was going with a giant prehistoric creature. Your answer to your real life commenter was very good.

Yes I agree with you - thin doesn`t mean healthy, and walking is good for everyone.
Often when I read your posts and your comments I feel we think much the same about so many things. I hope you enjoyed your knitting group.
