Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

My morning walk

A beautiful cool morning for walking.  I saw the sun come up and it stayed up for the whole of my walk, but once I got home it turned cloudy.  I started out walking down the road away from the lake, then walked a path through the woods and then headed over to the lake and walked around it.   I got to the lake a little later than usual and there were less people there.  It is probably an in-between time after people are walking before work and the time people get all the kids off to school.  I saw the heron and lots of rabbits and squirrels.  The geese were around too being quite noisy!  I saw nine deer and I took a picture of one of them as it stopped eating to take a look at me.
It was so nice out and it felt so good to be walking that I didn't feel like going back home and I ended up walking a bit over 8 miles.  I know that sounds far but it really didn't seem that far as I was walking.

I've got a load of laundry going in the washer which I'll hang outside (hope the sun comes back out) and then do a few other chores around the house.  I'll spend a little time in the kitchen making spinach and bean soup and some rolls.  The rest of the day will just have to unfold as it happens.
A very happy Wednesday to you!

Our Michael spotted a herd of 13 male deer in his paddock! Mike's been running around posting 'No Hunting' signs.

Sounds like a lovely walk!

Eight miles! I'm very impressed. You seem to be seeing more deer now than you used to.

Can nine miles be far behind? Hmmmm?

I'm so envious! I would love to be able to walk
everyday in the sunshine and fresh air. I'm looking for ways to be able to work from home so I can help keep my year old grandson so he doesn't have to stay in daycare so much!
Love your photos! Isn't it amazing to encounter wildlife like deer right near your home? We've been watching two does who have been coming to the edge of our backyard.

As it is now evening, I hope your day unfolded to be a good one. I love your sky picture today. Bean and spinach soup sounds yummy and healthy too.

Just today I saw on the TV news that W.Va. ranks #1 in the USA in car-deer collisions. The odds are 1 in 42 of hitting a deer while driving. I live just across the river from W.Va. and I think this area is just as dangerous.
They are beautiful animals, and I'm always thrilled to see one, except in my headlights.

The first picture of the beautiful sky reminds me of sky scenes when I was a little girl and always fervently believed that kind of sky was a vision of heaven. A good belief and I still get that same good feeling when I come across one. Perfect for today.
