Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Colorfest, a walk and happy Sunday

No morning walk for me yesterday!  We left first thing in the morning and went to the Catoctin Colorfest up in Thurmont.
The whole town was full of vendors selling things all along the road, in the park, fields, parking lots and anywhere else where there is room.  The amount of booths and things being sold was just unbelievable. The town was bursting at its seams with all the people.

We got there early and found a perfect parking spot right at the edge of town and when it was time to go home didn't have to go through any traffic.  When we first got there it wasn't so crowded but that didn't last long.  Things were so spread out all over the place and it was less crowded in different areas.  It was fun walking and looking at all the goods that were for sale.
There was something for everyone.
  • Handmade wooden crafts
  • Jewelry
  • Candles
  • Baskets
  • Clothes
  • Furniture
  • And LOTS of food.
We had catfish and fries for lunch and I had a delicious Apple Dumpling with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  I shared a little bit of it with Ken.  Here I am enjoying it.
We stopped on a bridge to look down at the water.  I snapped a photo of our shadows.
I bought a Fall wreath to hang on our front door and here it is already hanging on the door.
The weather was perfect for a day out like this and I'm so glad we got to go to enjoy the day.

Back to my morning walk this morning.  I headed out down the road, turned right and walked to the little pond.  Here is the pond early this morning.

I cut down here on this path when I got at the part of the road without any sidewalk and happened by this guy on a unicycle.  You don't see that very often.

Enjoy this beautiful Sunday that God has given us.
Happyone :-)

Headed out this afternoon to a train garden.

Being a walker is perfect when you want to find a parking spot on the outskirts of the action. Yum to the apple dumpling. Looks like lots of folks enjoyed the event!

Perfect outing!

And I'm so glad for them, that they had such lovely weather. Never can be sure... About the cooperation of the weather. :-)

Looks like you had a good day, it's just the sort of thing I would enjoy - a perfect place to find some unique Christmas presents. Also I love the tradition you have in The States of decorating your homes both inside and out to reflect the seasons. Here at the most you'll find some Christmas lights and decorations but never anything else. Unless you count hanging baskets or window boxes.

The Colorfest looks as if it was a lot of fun.
I'm not sure I've ever seen someone on a unicycle outside of a circus. Good catch!
