Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

1011 Vette

Sunrise 6:13
Sunset 8:13
Perfect weather this morning for walking.  Sunny and low humidity and temperature in the low 60's.  I walked straight down the road, turned right, walked down that road and went to the little pond.  I don't walk this way often because I have to walk in the road for a while where there are no sidewalks.  During weekdays there is a lot of traffic but early morning on weekends there is hardly any at all.
I first get to this tiny pond.
which is at the start of a path
that leads to this little pond.
There are some wooden paths around the pond which are pretty to walk along.
After walking around the little pond which is about 1/2 mile or so I walked back along the roads to home.  A lot of people where out walking but only saw one other person walking around the pond.  I love this little pond.  It is so quiet and peaceful.
I walked a bit farther than my usual 6 miles and walked 7.3 miles.

Last night we stopped at the Chevy dealer to look at the new 1011 Corvettes.
Here is one of them.
Isn't she a beauty? and in my color too!!
Only thing is, its an automatic and I think you HAVE to have a stick in a sports car!!  The red convertible in the background is a C5 which is the model I have only I don't have a convertible but you can see the difference from the C5 and the C6.
Mine is a 2002 and Ken thinks its about time I trade mine in for a new one.  Maybe in the spring! :-)

This morning we headed over to the old house and did a little more painting.  Last weeks yellow paint got a second coat.  I also cleaned the bathroom and Ken trimmed some trees outside.  Slowly the house is becoming presentable again.  I hope this fall we will be able to rent it to my friend or sell it.

We were home for a while in the afternoon and then late afternoon we went for a ride down to Waldorf where we used to live 16 years ago.  It is not that far, only an hour and 15 minutes away.
Here's a picture of the house.
The whole yard used to be gardens and its sad to see it now.  But it was nice when we lived there and we enjoyed living there for the 9 years we did.  Lots of changes down there, more shopping centers, more houses and more traffic. While down there we stopped in at Ledo's for pizza.

I'm off now to watch a little television.  We just got another DVD from Netflix of Oz.  We are going to watch that and have a small bowl of chocolate ice cream. :-)

I hope your Saturday was a good one.
Happyone :-)

What lovely weather to walk in! Although I do love my summertime, I am looking forward to cooler mornings and evenings. It is so humid outside right now that it feels miserable! Maybe I will start walking again this fall--right now I need a treadmill!

Pete's 'new' car is also red. It's an old Rav 4, a small sporty type of 4x4 which we are buying from the stable girl next door. I made the mistake of checking out our London house on Google Street (you can 'walk' along nearly every UK town road), and was saddened to see that my tiny but beautiful front garden is now a horrible privet hedge.

Such a peaceful morning walk...it must be one of the reasons why you walk...to get centered for the day. A new Corvette in the spring! That's great!

Lovely little pond!

What a wonderful area you have to choose to walk in!

Yes, of course! A red sports car has to have a stick shift! Good heavens! They make them, any other way??!!?? Heresy! ,-)

I've gone past that park, too. I've always thought it was lovely.
Others never seem to care for our properties the way we have, do they?
