Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A hot morning

Sunrise 6:05
Sunset 8:22
Ah, it was a hot one out there this morning. Very still without any breezes! It felt so good to step into an air conditioned house when I finished walking 6.1 miles! I walked around the lake and so did lots of other people. The drill sergeant was at it again and I could hear her yelling at people across the lake.
I saw the heron again standing at the edge of the water in the same place as yesterday. The black duck and white goose was around again too. Maybe they have found a new home here. I also saw two baby deer with their mom. They cut across the path in front of me and disappeared into the tall grass.
The morning sky.

Yesterday afternoon while I was reading I dozed off in the chair. Though I fell asleep the story continued in my dream. When I woke up I had to reread part of the book because I didn't know whether it was part of the story or I had dreamed it!! Has that ever happened to you?

Those roots of mine were were getting pretty long again so off to the hair dresser I went to have Cheryl color my hair. I had her go a shade darker again and I really like the color. Just about every time I've gone my hair gets just a shade darker and now it's almost my natural color again. I haven't seen Cheryl since I got my hair done last time so we had a lot to catch up on.

I got home just before the sky darkened up and the rain came. It didn't last long and surely not even enough to give everything a good water. At least not where I live. I'm sure someone else got a good soaking.

I have a few things to do around the house yet and then I'm going to finished that book I've been reading because it's due at the library tomorrow. Hopefully I can stay awake this afternoon! :-)

A happy Thursday to you.

No, that has never happened to me...having to reread because I fell asleep and kept dreaming about the book. Which was more interesting? The dream or the book?

Love the muted colors of that morning sky...

I think what happened to you is called "lucid dreaming" - very right brain and creative. Why is it my hair only keeps getting grayer and grayer? Well, I'm going to have it cut tomorrow - very short!

I have dozed off while reading many times, but I haven't had the dream part happen. Hope you were able to finish the book.

I love it when I fall asleep while reading -- although it wasn't such a good thing in college or while reading student essays!
