Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Nice new streets

A sunny morning with low humidity which made my walk super nice today. I walked around my neighborhood and then over to and around the lake. Along the path to the lake where the stream runs I saw two deer in the water. Once they saw me they took off running up the stream for a bit and than jumped out of the water and ran up the bank. As I approached the lake I saw two herons take off flying.
A lot of people out on such a nice morning. I don't usually see many bike riders around the lake but today there were 5 of them. I stopped to talk to a few people today and noticed others stopping more often than usual talking to people. Seems this kind of weather puts most everyone in a happy mood.
I walked 6 miles.
I won't be walking tomorrow morning because I'm leaving 6:45 in the morning to go with Ken. His work is having a golf tournament and we will be driving a golf cart around taking pictures of the event. It should be fun and I'm looking forward to it. I'll wear my new khaki jeans and they have provided a shirt and ball cap.

The final paving of the roads in my townhouse complex are being done today. Nice weather so they should finish all the streets. They did the road in front of my house first thing. I spent a lot of time looking at the front windows watching them work. I guess there are some things that we never get too old to like to watch. I took these pictures.

The weather is nice today, a bit on the windy side but I ate my lunch outside on the deck. It was nice to sit out there and get a little reading done too.

A blue jay paid my bird feeder a visit. I know they are supposed to be mean but this one seems very nice and he sure is pretty.

We've been enjoying a bit of that ice cream each evening. Ken always dishes it out. That is the reason I don't eat too much of it at one time, and we only eat it in the evening.
The past nights we've been watching New Tricks and Mad Men. Today, an old movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's came in the mail from Netflix and we'll be watching that this evening.

Enjoy the rest of your day and I hope all is well in your part of the world!
Happyone :-)
People are like stained-glass windows.
They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed
only if there is light from within.

Oh I really like that quote. ;>

It's looking so nice in here...have I said that? What do you think of the ease of using the new templates?

Do you also enjoy Bob the Builder? My grands would love to watch the street being paved right along with you.

Enjoy this weekend. It really does sound like fun.

Took a page from your book today and went for a walk -- but not until after 1:00. Didn't walk anywhere near as far as you do - just a couple of miles -, but it felt good.

I like your new layout, very nice. Lucky you to see deer in the water, I have never seen them swim. We walked round the outside of a local town last night along it's Saxon ramparts, it was lovely but not 6 miles!

Since it is now Friday afternoon, I imagine you are busy snapping pictures of golfers. It sounds like a fun outing and I hope you and Ken are enjoying it.

Is it the old Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffanies? I loved that! Have a good time at the tournament.
