Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Walking, cleaning and toilet paper

This morning was a mix of sun and clouds. I didn't look at the thermometer but it felt like about 45 degrees. I walked along a couple of paths and ended up by the school. I spotted Gertie out that way and walked about 3/4 of a mile with her as we talked. She is one of my favorite people and its just amazing that she is 87 years old! She says people are always telling her she is too old to do the things that she does but she goes right ahead and does them anyway. She really is a great person and I'm glad she's my friend. :-)
This deer along the path stayed and let me take a picture. She actually started walking toward me. I wasn't too comfortable with that so I left before she got any closer.Near home I saw the older couple who walks every day. You would never guess that they are in their upper 80's also! This walking seems to really pay off. I hope to be still walking when I reach that age!!
They were the only people I saw out this morning. I'm sure everyone else was out walking around the lake!!
I only walked 5.5 miles. I had to be home and ready to leave again at 8:50 and wanted to be home by 8:00.

Ken left while I was walking and went to the old house to get some done work over there. After I had some breakfast and got changed I left and walked down the corner to church for clean-up day. I should say clean up morning, from 9 - 12. My job was in the nursery and I had to wipe down all the kids furniture and toys. The person who was supposed to help me didn't show up so I did it alone, but I didn't mind, I got to play with all the toys while cleaning them! :-)

During the afternoon I read a little and when Ken came home we put the umbrella we bought a few weeks ago up on the deck. It has been sitting in the box on the deck all this time. The weather has been on the cool side and when I'm sitting on the deck, I've been moving my chair around to STAY IN THE SUN! I'm all set now for summer weather again.

This evening we were looking around the book store Boarders and I went to the ladies room. There was no toilet paper so I asked the woman next to me if she would hand some under to me and she did. I said to her "Isn't there a Seinfeld episode just like this?" Which got us both laughing. :-)
I think in the Seinfeld show the women wouldn't give Elaine any TP.

Last night we watched a couple episodes of Damages and will watch a couple more later on. I will be having ice cream and knitting as usual. That's what I do when watching television. If I don't do anything, I fall asleep! :-)

I hope you enjoyed your Saturday.
Happyone :-)
I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think,
all the walks I want to take,
all the books I want to read
and all the friends I want to see.

I love your quote! That sure is a problem for me too. My days are just much too short for all the things I have planned.

You do find the best quotes. The tp incident had me chuckling. I carry an emergency pack of items just for such occasions. That's right! I wear an entire roll of tp on a chain around my neck. LOL! Those older folks out walking must be very inspiring and yikes about the doe who wanted to get to know you a little better.

Nice to hear of old folks like that who are still able to walk.
The toilet paper bit made me laugh!

That is another good quote. I can relate to it. Gertie sounds like a very inspirational friend. How nice of you to wash down the toys in the nursery. I'm sure that will make a lot of parents happy.

I wonder what happened to the sick fox. Are the posters still up?
Wondered when I read your title how you would fit the TP in!!!
And I can just see you playing with the kids' toys! Good for you!
