Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A summer day

Not only was it cloudy when I walked out the door this morning, it was also raining. So I went back inside for my umbrella. Walked about 2 blocks and the rain stopped and the sun was shining about 2 miles later. :-) It was quite warm too. I walked on paths and streets not on any special route. I walked down a couple of streets that I have not been on before. Here's a couple of pictures along the way.There is no school this week so traffic was very light and I didn't see anyone else out walking. Heard the birds singing their morning songs, saw a few bunnies hopping along, and stopped to watch a couple of deer in someones yard.
I walked 6.1 miles and which is 12,604 steps for me.

I checked around the deck for a wasp nest and thankfully none was found. I think maybe they are looking for a place to build one. I will keep killing them off with my spray. Maybe they will get the idea and look somewhere else!!

I went off to my Tuesday morning knitting group this morning. A small group today with only about 10 people there. A bird got inside and someone said it had a nest somewhere inside. The place where we meet is in Savage Mill which is a huge place so there could very well be a nest somewhere up high. This little bird kept going by a small shop next to where we sit that has lots of colored beads which the bird liked. I tried to get a picture but no luck.

I did a couple of errands when I left the knitting group and had a late lunch once I got home.

No work around the house today. To nice outside, so I spent part of the afternoon outside on the deck again. It was like summer.

When Kenny came home from work we went to pick up the umbrella for the deck. Also got 4 12 x 12 paving bricks to use as weights. You can buy the weights that are just for the umbrella but they cost $74 each which is just ridiculous!! The pavers cost under $4.00. We didn't feel like putting it all together tonight so we'll do that another night.

My usual evening awaits me.

Hope your day was filled with sunshine.
Happyone :-)

but as much as I dare;
and I dare a little the more, as I grow older.

Sounds like a busy day. $4.oo is a much better price . I think you made a good choice. I put up my hammack Sunday . I love laying in my hammack. The dogs love it because they get so much lovin. To much for me. I like it better when they go off and play. But for some reason they think the hammock is for all of us. :)

We've been enjoying summer-like weather for a couple of days, but they say we're going to have a cold snap with lows near freezing. I don't like the sound of that.

I like that you abandoned the housework in favor of enjoying a lovely spring day. We should all do that from time to time :-)

Showers...sunshine...showers...that seems to be the pattern in April wherever we may live. Enjoy that deck!
