Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy day

Yesterday and today were rainy walking days. Not a steady rain but showers so I was putting my umbrella up and down a lot! It is nice to hear the rain on the umbrella. Once in a while I like rainy walking mornings. I'm ready for the sun tomorrow again though. :-) The weather was mild with a temperature of 50 degrees this morning. I walked around the lake and the signs about the fox are still up so I'm assuming they haven't caught him yet. I'm thinking maybe he died in the woods. I saw a few goldfinches, cardinals, and red winged black birds. They didn't seem to mind a little rain. Just a couple of people out and they were running.
I walked a little over 6 miles.

It ended up being a rainy day. I stayed home and got some stuff done around the house. I am glad to have gotten all my ironing done today - that was my main goal.

I made eggplant sandwiches for supper. I cut an eggplant in thin slices, dipped them in egg, and bead crumbs, and then fried them. We then put them on rolls with sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was very good and the eggplant was nice and crispy, just the way we like it.

We walked over to the Giant and got a few things we needed.
Just having the usual evening at home.

Hope this Monday was a good one for you.

How thinly do you slice the eggplant? It rained most of the way up and back to PA. Not too bad driving, though, except when I'd come upon someone on a cell phone -- invariably doing 40 mph on 95. So annoying!!

I like to hear the rain on the umbrella too. And I like to hear it when we sleep in tent or caravan, as long as we don`t get wet.

Kathy, I slice the eggplant a about 1/8 of inch or so. My ability to cut slices even is not so great! :-)

Another good quote there. I am hoping along with you that the fox has expired and that the vultures and crows have done their work. Amazing that vultures can eat diseased animals and never be affected. How did I get on this morbid topic? Yuck.

An eggplant sandwich sounds very tasty. I need to try that one.
Hope the sun comes out soon for you.
Another great quote.

I like that you walk in all kinds of weather. Just do it - my kind of person!

When I click on my icon ( the sun flower) in the side bar at the sites that I follow - my link to my blog does not show - do you know how I make it show?
