Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

An afternoon on the deck

It was 40 degrees this morning as I started my walk. I watched the sun come up again. I was a bit cool at first because I knew it would be warming up and didn't quite wear enough clothes to keep me warm at the start. It did warm up and I was fine after a bit.
Here you can see how things are all starting to turn green along this one path.I walked around the lake and again and saw a few deer, Cardinals, a Blue Jay, many Robins, and this Red-winged black bird. The picture isn't that great but was glad to get the picture! There was no wind and the lake was like glass. Which made this reflection really nice I thought.Quite a few people out walking and I'm sure later in the day it was crowded because it was such a pretty day. Another reason why I prefer early morning walks.

I did my morning routine and then a few things around the house in the morning. So then I could spend the afternoon out on the deck. I had clothes on the line so at first I had to sit among the clothes. I kept checking to see if they were dried and would take down a few things at a time as they dried.
I put dirt in two large pots in which I am going to try to grow a tomato plant in one and a pepper plant in the other. I didn't quite have enough dirt so I'll have to get some more.
I finished reading my book Breathless by Dean Koontz. I like most of Dean Koontz books and I liked this one as well.
I did some knitting out on the deck too.

Then Ken came home and we went to meet our friends Jackie and Kerry for dinner at a Thai restaurant a couple of miles down the road. I had never had Thai food before and wasn't sure if I would like it. Jackie assured me I would, but I didn't really like it. I had chicken with nuts in it and it was chopped fine. There were onions and peppers in it too. I would have rather had pizza!! I hardly ate any of it, so I had room for dessert. I had a piece of key lime pie. That WAS good.

No snack at home tonight. Nothing on television that I want to watch either so I'm going to start my next book.

I hope this Thursday you found some time for yourself to just enjoy being you.
Happyone :-)

Thai isn't my favorite food either. I know you enjoyed being with your friends and having key lime pie. That made it all OK, I'm sure.

Harry played golf today so I did have some "just for me" time. I hate to admit it but I do look forward to a little time alone.

Yet another thing that we have in common. Thai food is one of those that people either love or really don't like at all. So far, it's three to zip.

It was some beautiful day, huh?

I don't like Thai food. Not at all. I like most Dean Koontz books. I especially like listening to them.

That is a stunning lake reflection capture!

Things are starting to green up a little here, too. Like you, I spent some time outside today, working/weeding in the garden.

Count me in with the others, I'm not fond of Thai food, either. Too spicy hot.

Excellent quote today - so very true.

Sounds like a wonderful and happy day. This spring weather is great. It is tough to come back to work after a lunch break outside. Enjoy the day!

Have a great weekend.

If your weather was anything like what we had in Tennessee, it was a great day for enjoying the deck. You captured a perfect reflection on the lake in your last picture.

I'm so delighted with how quickly things are greening up! You probably are able to see daily how things are changing!
