I had planned on stopping at the Giant before coming home from my walk to get milk but forgot so I couldn't make pancakes for breakfast. We had toast instead made with the homemade bread. Good but not as good as pancakes would have been.Sunset 6:12

Next we got started right in with our project of putting the stone up on the fireplace walls. Thanks to Bonnie loaning us her wet saw the job went smoothly and pretty fast. Kenny did all the cutting and putting the adhesive up on the wall. I took all stone pieces out of the boxes and helped stick them up on the walls. It was fun to do and I love how it turned out. I think it goes terrific with the paint on the walls.
We were 8 pieces short and had to go out and buy one more box. Here are some pictures of the job.

With all this rain we are having I don't think the snow pile out back will last much longer so I've taken this picture today. I'll take daily pictures until it is gone. This might be the last one though.

After a day of work we like to get cleaned up and then go out to eat. We started doing that years ago when Ken's dad used to come over our house to help us with one of our projects. He would always take us out to eat after working. :-) Ken learned so much from his dad about fixing things around the house and we always think of him when we have a project to do. We sure miss him!!Tonight we went out for pizza.
Then stopped at Weis and got some ice cream which we will be having for our snack later while watching the movie Old Dogs that we got from Netflix today.

It looks very nice and adds that certain something that I'm sure you were looking for. Isn't it always the way to run just a little short?! Shoot! The rain will be coming our way next. Since I just shut off the fans in the basement because it finally dried out, I'm not looking forward to any rain. That snowpile is going to be history. This could be a neck and neck race.
The wall looks so good! I'm envious of the things you and Ken get done. My father never did any projects, and I don't know how to do much. I wish I could be my own handyman.

The wall sure does look good and as you said goes beautifully with the colors of the room... and oh! boy i think we are bid adieu to it sooner than we thought... and it is a beautiful thought to think of people who are so closely related to certain projects....

Your fireplace project turned out beautiful. It adds so much character to the room. I also received "Old Dogs" from netflix today and will be watching it later. Still is raining here, but I am glad it isn't any more snow.

Wow, what a transformation!! It looks a bit like putting a puzzle together. How nice that you work together and then are rewarded with a dinner out. Great tradition your father-in-law started. My dad was very handy. He could fix just about anything and always had a nice neat toolroom. After he passed away we all had a hard time going into his tool room. Too many memories. I enjoyed your story about your father-in-law.
Great job with the stones at your fireplace wall. It became very nice. I agree the stones go very well with the colors of your walls.
