Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Winter Wonderland Walk

We got a couple of inches of snow last night which made for a beautiful walk this morning. I left a little later than usual because I wanted it to be light out so I could see where I was walking. I only walked 4 miles but I stopped quite often to take some pictures. Walk along with me this morning and see the beauty.
Walking along some of the sidewalks. The sun through the trees. Some people even shovel off their sidewalks and
I say a big THANK YOU to all of you who do. :-)Something nice about putting the first
footprint in fresh snow.Snow covered trees.I followed this little path in the woods off the main path and cameacross this little stream.A rabbit was here.
A heron was standing on the island of snow down below by the ducks which you can barely see.
The heron took off and you probably can't see it but it's just a bit to the up to the right of the ducks. I can see the reflection of the heron in the water too.
I hope you enjoyed walking along with me. I'm really not a cold weather or snow person, but the snow sure does make for some beautiful walks.

I'm planning on spending the day home today. It's time to get some much needed house cleaning done. By the afternoon I hope to finish the little slippers which I didn't finish last night and also knit a little hat. Maybe even have some time to read. :-)

Have a Happy Friday.
Happyone :-)
The brook would lose its song if God removed the rocks.

The photos from your walk are very very beautiful.
I don`t enjoy my walks right now because it is a bit too cold (-21 Celcius today), but I have to walk a little because the dogs need it.
I guess it`s good for me too.
He he - you know me so well when you guessed the package contain make up or things for the animals.
Have a nice weekend.

Really beautiful scenery on your walk today. New snow makes everything look so perfect. I was able to find the heron once I clicked on your photo. That particular photo reminds me of the creek that runs near our house.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day! =)

What a pretty walk...but I missed the heron even though I enlarged the photo.

Your photos remind me of one of my favorite poems, "Stopping By The Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost.

Lovely photos of a lovely walk, it's very pretty where you live.
I too enjoy walking, but not quite 6 miles a day. I think it's the best exercise.

You certainly did have a beautiful walk this morning. There is something amazingly peaceful about newly fallen snow.

I've fallen behind on my blog reading and have just read your last few posts. First of all, I want to tell you that I think your new hair color looks great.
I enjoyed your pictures from your wintery walk. It looks so pretty with all of the freshly fallen snow and I wasn't a bit cold :-)
Have a wonderful weekend.
