Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Today, the Kitchen

I walked 6.5 miles down Gray Rock and back this morning. No morning sky pictures because it was cloudy and dark. A few people walking dogs and that was about it. I had to be extra careful walking on the pavement. The temperature was hovering near freezing which made some sidewalks dry, some wet and then some were slippery with ice.

Today I spent in the kitchen getting a few things changed around. Again here's a few before and after pictures.
Corner BeforeAfter

I took the chair from the corner and moved it into the living room in the little area I made by the front windows. I took the plant that was on the hoosier in the kitchen and put it in this area too.
The table with the leaf in it.
The table with the leaf out of it. A better size when I don't need a big table. Notice the vase of flowers?
They are the ones that Cheryl and Rob brought over just about 2 weeks ago. They are still beautiful!!

Island BeforeAfter. It will be nice to have breakfast here.
Probably pancakes in the morning. :-)
And that's my kitchen. :-)

This afternoon I finally finished reading The Courtyard by Marcia Willett. This is only the first book I've read this year so far. I sure have a long way to go if I'm going to read 75 of them this year.
I enjoyed The Courtyard very much. I love all her books.

I haven't had ice cream in quite a while so we went to Weis to get some. Near the Weis a new pizza place has opened up and we went there tonight to check it out. The pizza was okay but we won't be going back there anytime soon. Too many other better places to go to.
In a little while I'll be having some of that ice cream we just bought. I got my favorite which most of you know by now is chocolate chip!

Hope your Friday was a happy day.
Happyone :-)

Oh everything looks so bright and nice. I really like that you put the chairs back up to the island for eating breakfast or lunch. It looks great that way! One thing is sure...you have many ways to rearrange things in that marvelous space. Love the Hoosier, too!

Very nice arranging and decorating job! Beautiful Hoosier cabinet. Always wanted one but not an option now.

I see I've missed quite a few of your posts, so I'd better get busy reading! =)

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

This has been so much fun seeing how you are re-arranging things in your house. Your kitchen looks great. Sitting at the island looks like a wonderful place to enjoy pancakes. I really like the color of your wood floors and also love the rolling pin collection.
