Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

This morning when I got up it was dark and raining. I waited for a while and started walking at 7:30 when it was a least light out. I put on my rain gear and off I went. It was just a light rain but during my walk the rain stopped though it did stay cloudy and dreary. Eventually the dreary day turned into a sunny one.
Here's a video I took while walking.

I finally made it to the lake and walked around it with no more detours! Only a few people out walking so I had the lake practically to myself.
I ended up walking just over 7 miles because of the back tracking I had to do.

Last night after dinner we went to see the United States Air Force Band play at a local high school. We asked our dinner friends if they wanted to go with us and they said no. Well, they sure missed a great show. It was excellent. The band and the singers were great and we had a wonderful time!! They got our feet dancing, hands clapping and put smiles on all our faces. Picture is not so great, but it's the best I could get.I finished knitting the scarf for my friend. I think she will be surprised! I will be giving it to her in the next few days. :-)
Knitting night as arrived once again. Tonight I will be starting on some tiny slippers to go along with the tiny hats I've been making for Bonnie's Project.

I hope your are enjoying your Wednesday.

Karen :-)

Somehow I got behind in visiting blogs this week, but I see that you have made your daily walks (and then some) while I was gone. I'm impressed by the wildlife you see along the way. The concert sounds as if it was really something.

I sometimes have trouble putting my videos on my blog, too. Not quite sure what's up with that.

The finished scarf turned out nice; looks soft and warm.

Glad you were able to attend the concert. I'd love it if we'd have something different like that around here. Our holiday concerts are the same productions every year. Nice, but need a change.

I also waited some time before my walk this morning because of the dark.
I love that you put a video in your blog and I like to hear your voice.
I am sure your friend will be happy about the scarf.
Have a nice day :)

Looks like you've had lots of rain there too. We finally had a beautiful day yesterday and much colder today. I hope to get out and walk some today too. Love your video.
Have a good weekend :)

How fun to walk with you vis video...and to hear your voice. Love your accent...definitely not Canadian.

I have had no luck in putting video clips on 'blogger'. Apparently one can post them to you tube...then use the embedded code...but that all seems like to much work.

Your scarf is beautiful...lucky friend!

Wow, you did have a lot of rain, from what you show on your video. Does that stream ever get so flooded that the paths are completely underwater? Looks like the water was moving rather swiftly.

Lindy, I'm told that at times that yes the paths are completely underwater, but I've never seen it. I've only been living in the neighborhood for the past year though.

I see you are blessing somebody else with your knitting talents. The scarf is really pretty. I like the colors you chose. I can't believe how fast you knit (& read). I enjoyed your video. It was nice to hear your voice.
