Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Out to dinner

I walked an extra mile today and went 7 miles which was 14,367 steps. It was a chilly morning but very still. It is dark once again in the mornings when I start walking. Here's a look at the morning moon through the trees on the way to the lake. A great walk around the lake. The deer were out in numbers as well as the geese. A couple fishermen were out at the edge of the lake too. Not very many people out exercising this morning though. The sun never did come out, it stayed cloudy, but at least there was no rain.

After sitting home yesterday I had planned to go out this morning but ended up knitting on the scarf instead.

Played around with the new fois television and watched a few shows on the Home and Garden channel and the Food network. I can't believe how many channels there are and we got the basic stuff. The remote takes some getting used to!! I don't think I'll ever master the thing.

We went out to dinner tonight to Baldwin Station which is in the town of Sykesville about 20 minutes from our house. Its a real nice place where you can get dressed up a bit. I wore one of my new sweater dresses. The food was delicious.

That's about it for today.
I hope your Friday was a happy one.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Sounds like you had a great day. And the quote that you have mentioned is really beautiful.

That remote IS daunting, isn't it? I'm glad you liked Baldwin's. We ate there some years ago and while the food was pretty good, the prices were exorbitant. How did you find their pricing?

Kathy,
Yes it is quite expensive but once in a while it's nice to splurge. We go there on special occasions. Besides we had a gift certificate! :-)
