Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A Good Day

This morning was the coldest one so far. I had to wear an extra layer. Left in the dark at 6:30 but the sun finally rose and warmed it up a bit. I was a little chilly when I first walked out the door, but warmed right up after I got walking. Another 6 mile walk around the lake for me. I walked in the opposite direction for a change. Only saw three people out around the lake. A few deer, a couple rabbits, and a bright red Cardinal.
These geese were up early this morning as well.A little bit of ice across the path in places.

Encase you're wondering about that pizza we had for supper yesterday, it was just as good as I imagined it would be. Doesn't that look delicious?Brought lots of leftovers home. There is pizza in the freezer now for another supper at home and I had a piece for lunch today. :-)

Did some chores around the house and then I listened to an audio book while I ironed in the afternoon. I'm listening to Cat's Eyewitness by Rita Mae Brown read by Kate Forbes. It's a bit on the silly but still pretty good.
Next came some time for knitting and I finished knitting another pair of the tiny slippers to go along with the tiny hats for Bonnie's preemie project. They are so tiny and the cutest little things.Tonight is another night out for Ken and I. We are headed out to Annapolis again. This time to Ram's Head Tavern on stage to see the comedian Paula Poundstone. We are going to the 9:30 show and will eat out somewhere before we go. It should be a fun night out and I'm looking forward to it!!

I think I'll go and read for the rest of the afternoon. What a life huh? Life is Good.
I thank you God for happy days as well as the not so good ones.

I hope this Friday you get to spend time with a friend who loves you. :-)
Karen :-)

it only saps today of its joy.

I love the flat stillness of the water, like it is getting ready to freeze and is holding very quiet so it knows what it will feel like.

Also that is a fine looking pizza.

Sounds like a very nice day and an even better night. The pizza looks delish and is making me hungry. Your little booties are so sweet.
Have a great weekend.

Great lighting on the trees and geese. The geese were probably hoping you had some of that great-looking pizza with you! =)

Sounds like you and Ken are going to have another fun date night.

Stay warm!

Dear Karen,
I see you have put a new picture of yours in your profile and this one looks great. Good bright red!!!

As for the pizza, i am totally craving to have one. Being sick, i am just wishing to have food like a glutton and that pizza looks absolutely delicious.

As usual, you capture the peace and calm of your lake. It makes me happy to paint this picture in my mind. I can almost hear those geese asking for a handout.

I have to say this once again. I'm so truly happy for you and Ken. Yes, Life is good!

I'm impressed by your early morning walks. 6.30 a.m. in the dark shows a lot of commitment.

What, no pizza for breakfast??

That pizza looks fantastic! Where did you get it?

Kathy, The pizza came from Pazani which is off of Montgomery Road. Their NY style pizza is very good too.
