Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

And the rain continues

Once again I donned my rain slicker and rain pants and had my morning walk in the rain.I cut it a little short and only walked 4.8 miles because the rain was leaking down the front of my slicker and I was getting wet. It was chilly too! It was nice to get back to a dry warm house. :-)

Another full day of rain rain rain. It was a good day to stay home and read a good book and that's what I did.
I finished reading another book by Maeve Binchy, Quentins.
Another great book as I think all of her books are. This one is about a restaurant, the people who run it, and the stories of some of the people who frequent it. Sad, happy and everything in between.

I also went up in my loft and worked on the afghan of weave-its. Made a few and sewed a few together. There are a total of 303 of these 4 inch squares. I'm making this one to surprise another friend. She reads my blog so I can't say who it's for. I started this a while ago and feel good about getting some work done on it. While I did that I listened to George Guidall read me more of The Cat Who Went Underground.

I thought it was a good day for soup, so I had some tomato soup for supper. I put a slice of cheddar cheese in it and a piece of bread.

So here it is Saturday evening. I will watch an episode of A Touch of Frost and have some cookies and milk.

I hope you got to see some sunshine where you are. I'm missing the sun.

Karen :-)

the wise grows it under his feet.

We've been driving in the rain for two days. We're ready for some sun as well!

What a pretty and colorful afghan that will be. Lucky friend! Reminds me of the ones my paternal grandmother made for each of us grandkids when we graduated from high school. Lots of time, effort, and love go into making those.

I admire your dedication for walking in the crummy, cold, wet weather. I need to get back to my walking routine but just haven't been wanting to get out into the cold.

Hope your Sunday turns out to be a sunny one.

We walked today in the ALS walk at Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. I came home and fixed a cup of coffee and then took a hot shower!

I might try the Maeve Binchy book. You think I'd like it?

I can't wait to see the sun again. I looked at a photo of the other day to remind me what it looks like.

I love this afghan. What a lot of work but how nice that you can work on it in pieces whenever you want. I remember your showing me how you make the squares.

I lent my mom the Maeve Binchy book. She needed a book and I thought she'd like it. Thank goodness she can occupy herself with good books.

I think the sun is ready to come back. I haven't looked at the forecast, but the skies were looking up tonight.

Hope your Sunday was good :)
