It cleared up during the day and we ended up with a beautiful cool sunny day.
I didn't do much of anything today - a lazy day for me.
The story is set in England and is about two women who are very close friends. With husbands in the Navy away a lot of the time they are left behind to cope with life. I thought it was very good. As with all her books, I laugh and cry and get totally involved with all the characters.
Here is a couple of quotes from the book that I liked.
How easily we delude ourselves, rationalizing and excusing our own failings, whilst seeing the weaknesses of others in such a clear, harsh and unforgiving light.
So often good people are good because they've never been tempted or because they've simply been luckier and it's no real credit to them at all.

Of course I did a bit of knitting too. Every day needs a little knitting in it. :-)When supper time came around I felt like some good old pizza pie, so I walked across the street and got some. I stayed and ate it there. I don't mind eating there by myself. I sat next to the window and watched people walking by.
When I got back home I sat out on the back deck and started my next library book. I stayed out there reading until I couldn't see any more.
Watched some television while eating 4 of those chocolate chip cookies I baked the other day. I put the cookies in the freezer and then just take four out at a time. This way I can control how many I eat at a time and they last quite a while.
Next, I'll catch up on some blog reading, then watch a little more television and knit. I'm going to watch a show called Numb3rs. Never saw it before.
I hope you enjoyed your Friday.
Till next time.....
Karen :-)

great idea on the cookies. I love to eat something sweet after every meal but if they are in site I might eat on it all day till gone. The freezer is a good idea. I am going to try it. Thanks!

Good quotes...so true to life.
As for the cows...they need to be milked about every 12 hours. So in order to have a free evening, we need to start the morning milking bright and early.
It's pouring down rain here in Tennessee, so I would guess it's headed your way. I like your cookie control strategy -- we may have to borrow that idea. We really like Numb3rs, although I don't think last night's episode made much sense if you haven't been following it.
I have read several of Marcia Willett's books, but not that one. It does sound good so I will have to be on the lookout for it.
You have great self-control with your cookies. I haven't watched Numbers, but my husband and son are hooked.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I marvel at your control -- frozen cookies have never stopped me!
Great quotes! Art
