While walking around the lake this morning I came across this butterfly. Now in the past I would say that it was a Monarch Butterfly but now I'm not sure. Could it be a Viceroy Butterfly? Carla, if you are reading this, I know you will know! :-)
My friend Lin called me while I was walking and we talked while I walked a couple of miles. We planned to get together to do something - we just don't know what yet. :-)
I went to the commissary today. Not many people there because it was Monday, but that means that the shelves are pretty bare yet from the weekend. I didn't need to get much this time and I didn't have a problem. I got all that I needed. Once again when I returned home it was a trial to get down my street to the garage. Had to wait again for a truck to move out of the way. They are always very nice though so it's hard to complain. They are trying hard to get all the work done. Today they were still working at 7:30 - don't know what time they finally left.
I finished another white square on the white sampler afghan. Here are the latest two I've knitted.
In the last few days I've started playing solitaire again which is something that I haven't done in a LONG time. Today I listened to All Creatures Great and Small audio book while playing.
After supper I walked to the mailbox and then around the neighborhood and once again found a few nails.
I've been watching MPT and last night I saw the first part of Sense and Sensibility. I really liked it and look forward to next weeks part 2.
Tonight I watched Sherlock Holmes - The Adventure of the Creeping Man. It was really corny.
Both nights I ate chocolate chip cookies for my snack. (4)
In a little while I am going to watch, Monarchy, Return of the King. Until then I'm going to read.
It wasn't supposed to rain today, but right now we are having a thunder and lightening storm with lots of rain. We can sure use the rain - I like when it rains at night. It was very hot and humid here today, maybe the rain will cool it down a bit.
I hope this Monday was a good one for you and that it was scattered with laughter and happiness.
Happyone :-)
To the world you may be one person,
but to one person you may be the world.

Not to worry. You and your friend will figure something out. Sometimes just sharing time and a wee chat can be pleasant - but knowing you, whatever you do, it will be fun!
I haven't watch TV much lately but by the sounds of it, I'm missing a lot of good shows. Maybe I'll rest in front of the TV tonight and just relax.
I'm happy to hear that the workers are being nice to you. It must be hard on them too. You're a very considerate person.
I think we sent you that thunderstorm from up north. :) Last night the skies were bright with non-stop lightening. I agree that the rain is much needed. It will definitely cool things down a little!
Your afghan samplers are beautiful. I wish I had your creative talent. Who knows, I may take it up again if I can remember how! Hehehe
Have a wonderful night, happyone and an even better tomorrow!
Hugssss, Susan
hi...thanks for dropping by..followed you so I can easily hop in here. nice entries , cool....butterflies, scenery etc...I like them all...
have a nice day.
oh so nice to be here, as always! the butterfly photo is fascinating - love butterflies! and your afghans are a beauty, such talent, ma'am, as you have, is rare these days. glad for the little rain, too! we had a power failure shortly before i went to work, oh my! glad the rest of your night went well...i just love your posts, always so calming...
Not sure on the butterfly but it is certainly colorful!
Construction can be such an inconvenience. That's the downside to being one of the first homes finished. Nice that the workers are being courteous and considerate of the residents.
Your afghan squares are pretty. I have similar ones (but done on a small loom) that my dad started to make me in 1991 but he passed away before he could finish it. I've studied the patterns but as yet haven't tried to finish it. Maybe this winter I'll be more inclined to give it a try.
Hope you get some relief from the humidity.
What a pretty butterfly, it has inspired me to put some sugary water out on the garden to try and attract some as it's a lovely sunny day. So far I've only seen Large whites!
I love your butterfly picture but I have no idea which kind it is.
I'm afraid I can't help you with the butterfly identification, but the picture is certainly a wonderful one. How long do you think it will be before you get your street back?
Hi Happyone,
I think it's a Monarch. That's without research, just what I think. Yesterday was a scorcher. It was a great day to go to the movies. Sounds like you kept yourself very busy, as always! I was so happy to get all that rain last night. I didn't know we were expecting a storm but wasn't surprised after all the heat we had. I felt sorry for all the outdoor workers.
Happy Tuesday!
I'm seeing more butterflies in the garden -- which makes me happy. Last night's storm was sweet, wasn't it? I sat here with my flashlight -- just in case we lost power.
You made me look into the butterflies! The two are VERY similar, but I think it is a monarch.
The butterfly picture is very pretty. My guess would be Monarch, but I'm not positive. Yesterday I opened my car door at the grocery store parking lot and there was a nail laying there. I picked it up and thought of you.
Your afghan squares are lovely. I can imagine it will be beautiful when it is finished.
Hope you and your friend had fun whatever you decided to do.
I'm going to have to look for "Monarchy, Return of the King". I'm reading about Richard III & the princes in the tower right now - I love english history.
I'm guessing that's a monarch. They breed in the trees around our place every year and I just noticed that thier back last week. Of course I know nothing about Viceroy's so take that for what it's worth.
Your afgan sampler page now includes these two squares. I hope I put them in the right places.
Kenny
