Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A new walk

Walked my six miles today but didn't walk on any of my regular routes. We drive down a road and there is a crooked fence that I like and always want to take a picture of it, so today I walked along that road and took a picture. Which I've posted on my photo blog.
I passed the fence and kept walking down the road, turned down another road which came to a dead end where this drainage pond was. There was a heron and it took off flying as I got there. If you enlarge the photo and look close you just might see it. Its off center to the left.
I walked down this little path.
Walked over this little bridge.
And came out on a road which lead to this bridge.
I then hit a main road again, walked down to the school through the path and headed back home.
I came across this tree that looks as though a beaver got at it. Someone put this cardboard box around another tree the beaver started on. Do they really think that something that can gnaw a tree will let a bit of cardboard stop them?
I was adding up my calories from yesterday and went on line and found out that the salad I love at Mimi's Cafe, the balsamic chicken and pistachio salad is 743 calories!!!!!! I guess I won't be eating that anymore! The blackened chicken Caesar salad is 341. That is good too so I will get that next time.

Did some more of the car puzzle and its coming along nicely. I ended up taking it off the black cloth. It just wasn't laying right and it was hard to get the pieces to stay put. I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow to show you how much is done.

I hope you all had a happy Thursday.

I was able to see the heron when I clicked on your photo. They are such interesting birds.
This is the 2nd time this week that I have read a blog about that salad at Mimi's Cafe. It sounds so good. I had to get on line to see if we had a Mimi's nearby. The closest one is about 30 minutes from here. I think we will have to try it out one of these days. I will pretend I didn't hear about the calorie count;-)

I found it, too. Nice capture! It must've been fun to find another path to follow.

Gosh, the beaver is mighty busy, isn't he? He must be pretty big to be taking down such large trees =)
It's always neat to discover new walking trails.

You shouldn't worry about calories! You're so small- if it looks good, eat it!
