Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A walk cut short

I started walking this morning in a partly cloudy sky but by the time I got about 3 miles away it got pretty dark and started to rain big huge drops. Then it started to thunder and that's when my cell phone rang. It was Ken asking if I wanted a ride home. If it had just been the rain I would have kept walking but I don't like to walk in the lightening and thunder. I told him which road I was walking down and in a little bit I saw the blue FJ coming down the road to take me home. :-) I only walked 4 miles but the day is young and I may be out walking again later on. Here are a few pictures I took before it started to rain. I wanted to show you that even when I'm not walking around the lake or along the paths through the woods, I still have nice places to walk down the roads in the neighborhoods. We have just finished a pancake breakfast and will soon be headed out the door to the library and then who knows where. Have a great Saturday. I may be back later. Happyone :-)

We have had some pretty nasty storms roll through here as well.... I don't mind them but walking in them is something else!
Yes, your neighbourhood pictures are still quite delightful even if you still were not walking the woods... they seem rather interesting and well kept and GREEN!

How sweet of Ken to rescue you from the stormy weather. It definitely looks like you have a lot of nice places to walk.

Enjoy your weekend.

Those are very pretty neighborhoods. And it looks like you have some level areas to walk. I have trouble with the hills here.

Pictures are deceiving Carla, that last picture is a hill. :-)

I'm envious of your sidewalks. We have lots of hills and have to walk on the side of the road which can be scary at times. I'm glad your knight in s shining FJ came to your rescue during the storm.

Ken is my kind of guy! Glad that you took him up on his offer because thunder and lightning storms are not to be fooled with. So much rain on the East Coast. The day started sunny and bright, but it's clouded all up again. Ugh. Will summer ever arrive?
