Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Lunch out and a good book

How nice that the rain held off for me so I could walk without getting wet. :-) Had a nice walk around the lake again. I met my friend Cheryl for lunch at a really nice place called Mimi's Cafe. We both had salads and muffins (which Mimi's is known for). We each took our muffin home, but I ate mine as soon as I got home. It was a banana chocolate chip one and extremely good. I didn't have breakfast though so I didn't feel about about eating the muffin. :-) Since it was raining and I had just washed my car yesterday afternoon I went in the FJ. I sat down to read my book for a while and ended up doing nothing else except reading it until I was finished with it.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.
It's the first in the series and I can't wait to start the second one. It's about vampires and it's very good. A real page turner. It came out in 2005 and the first I heard about these books was on Elizabeth's blog. Now I see things about the series all over the place. I don't know how I missed knowing about these books. I already went to the library web site and put the next book, New Moon on hold. I'm number 9 on the list. This is book number 13 in my 75 books a year goal. Tonight for our viewing pleasure we watched an episode of A Touch of Frost, ate chocolate chip cookies and I knitted. Not quite time for bed so I'll start another book and read until bedtime. I hope you had a day that brought you sunshine and happiness. :-)

It sounds as if you had a great day. Is Mimi's Cafe a chain? There's a Mimi's Cafe near by parent's home in Nashville that has great salads and muffins as well.

I have enjoyed the "Touch of Frost " series for years. He is such a versatile actor. Have you ever seen "Darling Buds of May" another BBC series he starred in? I think you would enjoy that one. thanks for the tip on the Twilight book I looked at it and wondered if it was any good. I will try it as soon as I finish my present book. Thanks for your comment. I love paths too.

Sounds like a Wonderful Day! Both of my children have read the Twilight books (all of them) and they were just like you .....couldn't put them down.
I haven't started them yet because I'm afraid that would happen to me...and I wouldn't get anything else done. I need to start it when I don't have anything else to do one weekend...and I can just curl up with it.

Also - Cheryl's comment to you touched my heart....what a sweet sweet comment! You are so LOVED!!!

Sounds good...especially an afternoon reading...vampires, eh? Who knew that you'd find that series such a page-turner?! There are quite a few popular ones in this genre, right? I really don't know since I'm too much of a wimp to read scary stuff. ;D
