Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

The move continues

Thursday brought some much welcomed sunshine and more trips back and forth between houses with another 4 loads. This time we were able to have the trailer and fill the FJ (Kathy - Toyota FJ Cruiser) too so we got to take a lot more stuff on each trip. We also stopped at Ikea and bought 4 chairs for the living room. Another late night but feel good about how much we've gotten done.
I was going to walk Thursday morning before we got started, got dressed with all my layers and then realized I didn't have my walking shoes so I got changed into working clothes and continued with the move.

Friday morning I did get to go for my walk. I missed two days of walking and it really felt good to get back to it. I walked 6 miles and went around the lake. I'm so lucky to have this lake to walk around.
This is what it looks like early in the morning.
I will be taking many pictures here on future walks in the days, weeks, months and years to come.
Here is one of many benches around the lake.

I also took a picture of the sky but didn't get a chance to post it for SkyWatch Friday but will save it for next week.

While I was walking Ken made a trip to the old house and brought home another load of stuff. After showers and breakfast we headed out to buy some more furniture. We bought a mission style table for our country kitchen which will be delivered next Wednesday. Got some curtains at Penny's and ordered other curtains from Country Curtains which will arrive next week. A couple more trips between houses and we got most everything moved. There are still all the books from the book shelves to move but I am going to go through all my books next week and only take the ones I really liked and would read again. The rest will go in a big yard sale we will have before selling the house. Still some little things around that we can move at another time. Kenny will be gone all next week so I'll be able to bring back most things that are left when I come to the old house to be on the computer. (Internet service won't be transferred to the new house until Monday the 19th).

So here I am late Saturday morning back at the old house to use the computer. I'm going to try to read some blogs. I am way behind but eventually I will get caught up and back to blogging everyday again. I really miss it! Thank you all for all the comments you have left!! :-) It's so nice to read them all and to know you are thinking of us. Thanks!!
I won't be back to blog again until Monday.

I'll leave you with a picture of the townhouse completed.
The inside is still too much of a mess for any pictures.
Make your weekend a Happy One.

  1. Thanks for the explanation about "FJ". Be careful about walking around CL alone. There have been incidents.

  2. It sounds as if the move is going well. You have a beautiful lake to walk around -- I look forward to more pictures in the future.

  3. Awww, bless you! This huge task will soon be a distant memory...

The house looks wonderful! How far away are you from your other house? Have you slept at the new one yet?

  4. The places you photographed looks beautiful for walking and photographing. Your house looks very nice! take care

  5. Your new home and walking area looks lovely, is it far away from your old house? All the best for the rest of the move, BW Goosey

  6. Glad the move is going well!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bench shot!!

  7. Gosh, the area for walking looks so perfect, I know I would be so content in that walk.
The townhouse looks so nice from the outside and I am excited to see the inside when it looks more organized!!

  8. I hope you and Ken have many happy days in your new home.

  9. Glad to hear that your moving into the townhouse is going smoothly. This past week alone, we have had snow, two inches of ice and then another snow storm. Glad you did not have that kind of weather.

Can't wait to see some pictures of the inside of the townhouse. The outside is just so nice. I just love your kitchen with the beautiful cabinets and stainlesss steel appliances and hardwood floor.

Best wishes to you and Ken.

  10. I'm also glad your move is going well. I love your townhouse. Can't wait to see the inside pics once everything is done.

  11. Oh this sounds like so much fun. Starting over. New stuff. I can't wait for your yard sale.
