Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Along my walking path

Many of you know that I go for a walk every morning. It's how I start my day and it is never a chore for me because I love it. I walk at least 6 miles all year long and in all kinds of weather. I see lots of other people out early doing their exercise too. Lots of walkers, runners, bike riders, and dog walkers. Some of the people I get to know and though I prefer to walk alone, walking a mile or two with some one is nice too. I have many routes that I walk and sometimes I don't walk a route at all and just wander where ever I feel like it. Some of my routes are around town but my favorite route is walking up to the park which is a half mile away from my house and along a couple of paths that run along the river. Here are some pictures of the paths that I took while walking.
Along the path. There are two of these benches along one of the paths and I have never seen any one sitting on them all the years I've been walking here.
There are quite a few of these wooden bridges along the way and I walk on one right under I95.
Another picture along the way. This bridge I walk over is the Pratt Bridge and it crosses over the river.
One more picture along the way. If you look close you can see a person walking. It's Linda a fellow walker.
I feel so lucky to have these wonderful paths to walk along. You would never know from these pictures that I live right between Washington DC and Baltimore. Some people ask if I'm afraid to walk along the paths alone so before you can ask the answer is no! I've walked here for years and have been perfectly fine. I refuse to be afraid while walking along such a beautiful place. I have my phone, my camera and my good sense. :-) On a future walk I'll take some pictures of the river. Happy Walking. :-)

Wonderful paths to wander along for sure! Although, I don't imagine that you're allowing any moss to grow under your feet walking six miles a day! I feel happy if I walk a mile.

You have a beautiful place to walk. I walk around a field. It takes about 2 1/2 laps to make a mile and it's a very boring walk.
