Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Up to Happy Trails : )

The weather this morning was back to normal.  It was 58 degrees and the sun came up and made it even nicer.
I had a nice walk around the lake.  It's looking really pretty over there now with all the leaves turning.
There were the usual amount of people there but a lot of them were people I haven't seen before.  A few of the regulars were around too.  There is some kind of event happening at the lake on Sunday.  There are a few tents set up already and portable fences out too.  They have lots of races that involve running, biking and swimming for different charities.

I walked down near the water to try to get a picture of some ducks and the heron but as I slowly made my down to the water they all got spooked and took off in a hurry and made quite a ruckus.  There was guy taking pictures a little ways away and took a picture of them all flying away.  He thanked me for the good photo opportunity. We both laughed.  : )

Walking through the Giant parking lot near home I found a quarter!
I walked 6.4 miles.

Got a couple loads of laundry out on the line first thing.  Had to wash a few things that I needed to pack up to take with me this afternoon when we head up to Happy Trails.

I sat down to read for a half hour and ended up adding an hour to that time, but I finished reading The House at Riverton by Kate Morton.  I thought this book too was excellent just like her other two books I've read recently.  A page turner for sure.

Then it was time for lunch and afterwards I had to hustle to get things done so I'd be ready to leave as soon as Ken gets home from work.  Hopefully he won't get held up with work and he'll be here by 4:00.  We are anxious to get started on the siding of the tractor barn.  I'm bringing my laptop and hopefully we will make a stop or two at MacDonalds so I can write a post or two.

I'm just finishing up with this post and then I'll read some blogs while waiting.

Hope you're Friday is a sunny one.

Comment replies from yesterday:
Vee - My hair is holding up good.  When I walk I wear a ball cap and tuck my hair in so it doesn't get frizzy. : )
Kim - Here's a couple of pictures from yesterdays living room arrangement change.
Cozy corner for reading or talking.
Other side of living room. A small book case that my grandmother gave to my mom and now is mine.

You are so sweet to take the time to include pictures of your living room when I'm sure you are very busy. Thanks. It looks really great. I like the seating arrangement in front of your sunny window. Looks so cozy and inviting. The bookcase is a very special piece.
I also love your first picture. It is so pretty. It looks like the leaves in your area are a little further along than ours.
Happy Trails to you.

You have a very attractive living room. I like the arrangement. The rain here has taken a lot of leaves from the trees.

Your living room looks terrific...so cozy and warm and charming. I'd love to sit and read something by Kate Morton there. You don't get baseball cap hair? Have a great weekend up country!

I see you have blue Mason jars! Our daughter who married in March had flower arrangements in blue Mason jars on the reception tables.

The picture of the trees around the lake is really pretty! We are being told the season is finally changing!:)

Don't work too hard this week-end!
