Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

A foggy morning

Giving Thanks Challenge Day Number 7
I am thankful for my car.
A dream come true car.
Isn't she a beauty?
My Red C5 Vette.
*************************************************
This morning was a foggy morning with a temperature of 31 degrees.  I walked around the lake.  The geese didn't seem to mind the fog.
The sun tried very hard to chase away the fog.
And by the time i got home it did and was shining brightly.
I saw a deer along the upper part of the path around the lake.  It must have been a young male because his antlers were just little things about 2 or 3 inches long.
Only a few people were out.  Probably waiting for the fog to lift before heading out.

A while back i mentioned a man that i saw walking almost every morning who always said good morning back to me but always seemed sad to me.  Today i saw him and he said good morning to me first with a big smile.  I said to him, "You certainly seem happy today."  He said, "I am."  That is all he said and we smiled and continued on our way.  I don't know what changed for him but whatever it was it was nice to see him so happy.

I walked 6 miles today.

Ken had another vacation day today and tomorrow he goes back to work.  We spent the day together today and you will not believe what we did.  I will tell you tomorrow because i want to have a picture or two and i haven't taken any yet.

Yesterday i received a gift from the person who has me for their Secret Sister.  This little counted cross stitch kit.  I haven't started it yet because i'm busy knitting but i'm looking forward to starting it soon.  : )
I finished knitting the blue and white slippers for my Secret Sister and left them on the table at church yesterday for her.
We are ending Ken's vacation day by going out to eat at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants (we have a few).  I plan on getting the Taco Salad.

Hope you had a happy Monday.
A smile from me to you.
Happyone : )

  2. Wow---that is some fog... Reminded me of our trip to Mt. Nebo in Arkansas last year --when we had thick fog like that.... Neat!

Love your car. When you get tired of it, I'll take it off of your hands... ha ha

Hope you and Ken have a wonderful day.
    Hugs,

  3. Good foggy pictures. I had a pair of slippers like those you made. They lasted for years. Have a good day with the hubs.

  6. I can't wait to hear what you and Ken did today. Did you paint a room? Rearrange furniture? Buy something big?

The fog was amazing today. I crossed over the Severn River Bridge, and it looked like mountains coming out of the water in the distance.

  9. Hi Karen, trying to catch up reading a few posts this week before I fly to florida. My favorite uncle died (mom's brother-in-law) and I am going for the viewing. I so wish my life would just settle down to a routine. I am pretty weary of all the drama. Oh well, maybe someday. Peaking into your blog makes me feel good. I will miss knitting today - too many things to do before I leave - I will see you guys next Tuesday.

    Say hi for me.
