Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another work day

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
I walked this morning in the sunshine with a temperature of 58 degrees.  Walked down past the Happy Trails road, turned around and walked back to town around the cemeteries and the ball park.

Saw a few people out today. Lisa running.  Rebecca walking.  Another man walking his two dogs.

The corn is getting quite tall now and the ears of corn are growing.  I am 5' 5" and the corn is taller than I am.  Most of the corn grown in my town are not for people but for the animals.
I walked 5.5 miles.

Back up to Happy Trails first thing after breakfast for more cabin work.  Work was slow going today.  Getting the two sheets of plywood on the top front posed a bit of a challenge but we finally got it up there.  Before we did that though, we had to take down the scaffolding inside and move it out to the porch.  In the picture Ken is on the scaffolding nailing up the plywood.
I planned on just being there in the morning and then going home in the afternoon, but didn't want Ken to be so high up working on his own so I stayed the whole day with him.  You can see how high up he is and I do worry about him.  So if you think of us once in a while, please say a little prayer that God keeps him safe.  Thanks.  : )

We also put a tarp over the roof rafters to protect it from the weather.  We will need three days in a row of dry weather to put the roof on.  Here I'm looking up at the tarp from inside.  It is starting to feel like a cabin now. : )
We put a wrap on the plywood which is a seal and vapor barrier which will be on all the plywood.   This is how we left the cabin at the end of the day.
When we got home we took our showers and then went to Annie's Kitchen here in town and had club sandwiches for supper.  Only ate half of mine.
Once we got back home I mowed the lawn.  Didn't feel like it, but it is supposed to rain and didn't know when I'd have another chance to get it done.  Once it was done, I was glad I did it.

Sat down to write a blog post earlier this evening and the Internet was down here for a few hours.  Glad that it finally came back and here I am. : )

Hope your Friday was a happy day.
happyone : )
Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end.
It's not a day when you lounge around doing nothing;
it's when you've had everything to do,
and you've done it.

Lindy - You answered your own question. : )  Yes, the roof rafters will be exposed on the inside.

A sunny working day

Faith, one of Farmer Bill's horses.
✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

It was 48 degrees this morning and sunny when I headed out for my walk.  A little cooler than I thought it would be but very nice.  There were a few low hanging clouds around up on the hill but they didn't stay around for long.

I walked the Farm Loop.  Saw a couple of deer.

Farmer Bill was out getting some work done on the farm now that the sun was out and he stopped to say hi.

The man who bought the big blue building was finally outside and I got to meet him.  His name is Corey and he is making a loft home in the building and plans to rent out the bottom part of it for a woodworking shop.  I also met his dog Gracie who is a very friendly doberman.  I'm glad I met her, so now if I walk by and she's out we are already friends. : )

Once I got back to town I walked around the ball park loop.
I saw Joyce again on her way to get her morning coffee.
Walked 5.5 miles.

First thing when  I got home, I had breakfast and then got the sheets washed and hung out on the line.  Put a chicken meal in the slow cooker so I wouldn't have to make supper when we got home and went up to Happy Trails for the day to get some work done on the cabin.  The weather was perfect, sunny and in the 70's.

I had a painting job to do.  All these roof rafters had to be painted.
Here all are painted and they are going up on the cabin.  Can you see Ken up there?
By the end of the day they were all up.
The part on the cabin in the above picture that is sticking out of the side is a small bump out where the bed will be.  Below is from inside.  The bed will up on a raised platform.  I already have the bed, a white iron one.
We were both tired at the end of day and so nice to get home, shower and have supper ready without having to cook it. : )

After supper we had to go to Lowe's to get some more things for tomorrows work.

So until tomorrow........
Hope your day has been a happy one.
happyone : )
