Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Wednesday

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Turned a bit chilly over night and it was only 45 degrees this morning when I went out for my walk.  It was cloudy but no wind.

Walked all over town again and around the two cemeteries and the ball park loop.  Down at the pond by the Drane House the baby geese must have been cold because all 6 of them were all huddled together.
I don't have any azaleas in my yard but all around town they are out and blooming.
Didn't see anyone else out walking this morning.
I walked 5.2 miles.

No work at Happy Trails today.  Had other things we needed to do.

When I got back from walking Ken had already left with the tracker to help a friend out by digging up his back yard. : )

This morning I mowed the lawn and it was still only in the 40's. Planned on staying out and doing some other yard work but it was a bit chilly.

Debated about doing laundry because it was cloudy and looked like it might rain but I took a chance and did some anyway.  Luck was with me because the sun did finally come out though it stayed in the 50's.

After lunch I went outside and planted a whole bunch of marigolds.  I put some in two big pots down by the vegetable garden and all around the outside of the garden fence.  Also planted marigolds out in front by the porch.  The only thing planted in my garden so far is rhubarb and some lemon balm.  We hope to get out in the next few days to buy the rest of the plants now that we shouldn't have any frost.

The month of April in our church is tract month.  We are divided up into two teams and which ever team hands out the most tracts gets to have a spaghetti dinner served to them by the losing team.  This year our team lost (only by 35 tracts) and this was the spaghetti dinner night.  We still got to eat the dinner. : )

And so ends another day.
It's been a good one.

Hope your day was a happy one.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

In answer to that question I'd say 42. : )

Another work day

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿

This morning is was 60 degrees.  It had rained during the night and there was some fog around when I first started walking but after a while there was a mix of sun and clouds with a cool breeze.  Very pleasant for walking.

I walked through town and went toward HT for a bit, then turned around and walked back to town and around the two cemeteries where I saw Kathy walking too.

While walking around the ball park loop I spotted this crawfish on the path.  It is about 2 or 3 inches long.  It just stayed there while I took the picture.  I got just a short distance away from it when a crow swooped down on it, picked at it a bit and then flew away with it.  Guess he found a tasty breakfast.
Walked 5.5 miles.

We spent the day up at Happy Trails working on the cabin.  We got all the floor joists put up and a lot of the bracing.
Here's a couple pictures at the end of the day.
The Back
Looking up at the pretty blue sky with a big cloud blowing across.

There was mix up with the dates and Ken isn't going away with the guys for their get-a-way this week.  It is now next week.

Remember those sunflowers seeds I planted in the front of the dining room windows and they had started to sprout?  Well they are all gone now.  All 8 of them were broken off at the bottom.  I think a bird ate the bottom which still had a bit of the seed from when they sprouted.
There are a few others still left in other parts of the yard and planted some more seeds by the window again.  This time when they sprout I'm going to put chicken wire over them until they grow a bit bigger.

Looking forward to sitting in my chair, having some ice cream and watching some television in just a little while.  Outlander came in the mail from Netflix today so we will watch the first episode of that tonight.  Finished the book not too long ago and thought I'd see what the series is like.

It's been a good day.
Life is Good.
Hope your day was a happy one.

 Do not regret growing older.
It is a privilege denied to many.

Art - oh yes, we are doing all the work on the cabin ourselves.

Linda - my mom is doing about the same.  She still can't put any weight on her left leg which is broken so she is in the nursing home part right now.  When she can stand on her leg she will then be able to go back to rehab and work on being able to get back home.
